Cheap upgrade to USB 3... http://www.amazon.co.uk/TeckNet-Interface-Expansion-Splitter-included/dp/B004S0Y9FK/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1349019439&sr=1-3
I'm looking for another 2TB HDD for my NAS.
Thank You
If you have this Highpoint controller card
then you can RAID external usb drives off it.
Wondering if I should get another one but don't really want to risk purchasing from the same batch as I got mine from Dabs
Depends on how much tape they use when packaging.
I've got an old Samsung Story Station 1.5tb that I've tried to open up to get to the drive inside, found some instructions online. Looks simple but I just cannot get the drive loose. Very frustrating, so if you're after an internal drive just get an internal one to save yourself the hassle. I think I read someone broke a knife trying to open their Hitatchi.
How to open Hitachi Touro Desk
.
I had wondered about that recently too. Well the guy in the video linked above says that the internal drives are currently more expensive because of the increased demand still for internal drives since the floods in Thailand which affected many of the factories. Less demand for external drives for new PC builders.
Seems a fair point.

I have the 2TB Pro version also from Dabs.-
I use it to weekly W7 back up 2 Laptops via wi-fi and 1 desktop via USB3.
Laptop Wifi back up via W7 > Computer > Disk Management & Assign Virtual Disk.
