This version is different to ebuyer's NON PRO!! Very good deal if you don't mind paying a bit extra to get the pro version. This drive has extra features compared to the non-pro version such as cloud storage (up to 3GB) and faster spindle speed (7200 RPM). . Well worth the extra £7 in my opinion.

Comparison can be found here: http://www.touropro.com/compare-touropro/

For those who want to crack this HDD open the drive found inside is an 'HITACHI Deskstar 7K300'

Free delivery and more than 200 in stock at time of posting.

Same drive is £146 at amazon.

Do you have to pay to have access to storage? Is the 3gb already automatic and for lifetime? Can I get the apps for free for my computer and iPhone to install to get remote access..
#42
Can anyone who has bought this tell me please if it requires external AC power (except USB). It is not mentioned in the description or the "includes" part. Thanks

Could someone test the USB V3.0 7200rpm Touro with Diskmark V3 please?
#45
That does seem a good deal, tempted to pick up two and split to run in raid 1 as my media store.

I bought the cheaper non Pro Touro which is supposed to have 5400 rpm disk but CrystalDiskInfo says it is a hds723020bla642 and reports that it is ATA/600 , when I searched on hds723020bla642 and it is indeed a Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 HDS723020BLA642 - Hard drive - 2 TB - internal - 3.5" - SATA-600 - 7200 rpm - buffer: 64 MB. I wondered why this is the same disk as this deal here! The box it came in just had "Desk" and not "Desk Pro". Read my thread response on the other Hitachi Touro 2 TB USB 3 where I posted disk performance tests.

3.5 inch hard drives run off 12 volts so need an external psu, usb ports only supply 5 volts which is enough for the smaller 2.5 inch laptop-style drives .

Ordered - arrived this morning - dead in arrival.

Going back tomorrow :(

i ordered this at the weekend and it came tuesday, i thought mine was dead on arrival but if you power it up and connect it (USB3) then turn on the PC it recognises it and loads windows drivers, now it is ok. It comes with a 12v PSU.

Mine arrived well packaged and fortunately worked out of the box. Formatted and currently backing up my NAS to it now. Very happy.

Got mine today. This thing is fast, yes it is!! Doing 150MB read and write on USB 3.0. The only thing that is worrying me is that it runs to hot for my liking (45 to 50 C). Does anyone here with the 7200rpm version as checked the temperature????? If so please post it here.

you cant access the 3gb cloud by the iphone app, you have to upgrade
that's pathetic...

Kind of late post.

Mine's on its way, great deal. Does anyone know where I can get a case for this? I'll be travelling with it.

I've tried a Google search and tried looking on Amazon but I've not been able to find anything.

This seems a very good price. Does anyone know how I would connect this to my Squeezebox Boom? Could I do this through WDTV live media server?

Any advice appreciated.

Just received mine in the post today from Dabs free delivery (ordered on 8th and arrived on 10th). This is the best external hdd you can buy atm with respect to price and capacity.

Btw the difference between the pro and standard edition is the faster 7200rpm drive and the backup software (which allows auto backup to HDD and cloud storage) - nb the cloud storage 3gb is free for everyone, its just that the Pro version incorporates the cloud back up within the backup software.
