Incredibly basic LCD television with one HDMI socket but perfect for anyone with their own cable etc.

The Hitachi UT32MH70 is the thinnest screen we've ever sold! Okay, at just 35mm it's so thin that Hitachi couldn't even fit a TV tuner in but, provided you have a Sky, Virgin, Freesat box or DVD recorder (with HDMI) this is no problem at all. Furthermore, if the system is being used as part of a home cinema system then a monitor represents excellent value as you're not paying for a part of the TV you don't need.

Coming complete with an HDMi input it's easy to connect the UT32MH70 straight up to an AV receiver or media source of your choice. Once connected, you'll enjoy HD quality images from the IPS screen that are every bit as good as normal, "full fat" LCD screens. In addition to the HDMI there's also a VGA socket that is perfect for a PC or, with an adaptor, any analogue source you care to add.

In addition to being a third of the thickness of a conventional LCD TV, the Hitachi UT32MH70 is lighter, too. In fact, this screen is so light that it hangs as easily as a picture with no special wall surface required (ask instore to see a range of matching brackets). To keep the appearance neat and tidy, Hitachi has designed special cable channels. The beautiful finish has also been designed to look sleek from any angle - perfect if the screen is stand mounted in the centre of a room.

For a fuller picture from a thinner screen, the Hitachi UT32MH70 is without competition.

Remember, it's got no tuner or scart socket, just HDMI and VGA. That means another £20 or so on top of the price, unless you happen to have a freeview box with HDMI out.

It has built in speakers. I've got it and the quality is perfectly fine. Obviously not great if you're an audiophile, but luckily I'm not so I've been happily playing movies through my PS3 on it.

Unfortunately, even though Richer Sounds are keen to emphasise that this is a 'monitor' (i.e. no tv tuner), they still report your purchase to the TV Licensing people who send you a letter. It makes about as much sense as sending a letter to the TV Licensing people to let them know I've bought a pair of headphones...

your mum must have been stupid!

I quote!

''With PlayTV, you can watch, pause and record free-to-air digital television while you take a break from gaming, further expanding the entertainment possibilities of PlayStation 3.

The PlayTV Tuner, which plugs into one of the PS3 system's USB ports, is capable of showing and recording free-to-air digital television, and will allow you to record one channel while watching another. It features a comprehensive programme guide which lets you view listings and schedule recordings for the following week.''

so if you use play tv with your PS3 you can watch tv on this ''monitor'' or even Sky HD

stop being so negative, if you don't like the deal don't comment! And don't worry yourself 'it's all in the hips!'

HOT HOT!

If your still interested.........

I have the 42 inch version of this TV and I have hooked up my Sky and PC and the quality is stunning. I regularly play games such as GTA IV, Bioshock, Mirrors Edge etc and it looks fantastic.

I hope this helps.
