If it's faulty the seller has to pay for return postage and being Argos I don't see it being an issue.

I've used them Argos outlet on eBay a few times and never had an issues!

Terrible TV I got one took it back straight away. Ghosting us a major problem.

I think is a great tv, got it brand new at £249 few months ago. Makes a pc great monitor too, refurbished could be a problem sometime especially if they do not even test them. £200 should be the right price

Mate bought a Hitachi TV a few weeks ago and took it back the same day because it was terrible. Bad picture and sound. Don't be fooled by the name, it's cheap and nasty made exclusively for Argos. Cheap doesn't always mean a deal. You've been warned!

Cold for me, you do get what you pay for sometimes. Argos own brand with Hitachi badge isn't good.

I cannot believe anyone would buy a 40" 4K TV and not expect to use external sound source. I'd never dream of using the speakers on one of these flat panel TV's.

Why exactly was the picture bad? It's a 4k set! Surely it just needed some tweaking? What source did you use?

I use mine as a computer monitor, and for that purpose it is actually quite ok. It is not exactly 1:1, because some kind of sharpening is still going on that cannot be switched off, but it has full chroma resolution at 60Hz over HDMI2.0, and the resolution does look very nice.

That being said, resolution is not everything. The response rate is good, contrast is about average, colours are a bit weak and a little off, and there are some minor imperfection in the back light. But at the end of the day this is a cheap TV, and the picture looks sharp, but still a bit cheap.

Is it good value? Certainly. Does that make it compete with 1000 pound TVs? No, not in picture quality.

He did use his external audio set up, which was very unreliable and kept disconnecting. And as for the picture, the blacks were terrible, and over all the TV was cheap and nasty. The OS was clunky, old fashioned and not as slick as you would expect these days. It's old tech at a cheap price. You really do get what you pay for. Personally I would pay a little bit more and get a much better TV. Like I said, because it's cheap doesn't mean it's a deal.

I dont understand all the technical aspects of TVs, but how can you have a 4k Ultra HD TV with a naff picture? Surely the idea is its the bees knees? And then for people to say its ok as its cheap? Bought myself a V8 last week only 4 pistons work but thats alright cos its a V8 and it was cheap........

It's like a Ford GT40: it may have more displacement than a Ferrari, but that does not make it the better car.

Resolution is just one of the factors for image quality, and given that very little 4k material is currently available, the 4k resolution is pretty much wasted. Response time, colour accuracy, contrast, viewing angles, backlight smoothness - those are more important factors that you can even see from a distance, while resolution only matters up close.

Hitachi my ar5e,
these are all made by Vestel - can't comment on this one but the others I've seen were very very cheap electronics inside them.
The same as all the other 'own' brand tv's = Vestel

You get what you pay for,
Not voted either way as it may suit some people

Hitachi are junk these days. Same with JVC. And many Toshiba's.

And 4k is such a scam. It's digital cameras all over again. A Technika 20mp point'n'shoot is NOT better than a 6mp Canon dSLR. Same with TV's. Just cos it has more pixels does not automatically make it better. Those extra pixels take more power keep moving and looking good. If anything, cheapo 4k TV's will struggle more than cheapo 1080p ones. Great on a static image viewed straight on, but watch a football match at a slight angle? No thanks ....

Cheap for what it is, but I wouldn't buy one.

I'll never go back to a 1080p computer monitor, not after using this 4k screen. Absolutely no way.

Your comment may hold true for what YOU use a TV/screen for, but it certainly does not for me. Different strokes for different folks.
