Have no idea why ppl have been voting cold... from what I see, for a 500GB portable (2'5") HDD, the cheapest I see in any brand is 70 quid for the Seagate expansion series... Maybe its coz Hitachi has a bad rep but I really wish ppl wud comment on why cold...

Voted hot, as the Medion drive will be more difficult to get a hold of and Tesco gives free delivery.

The Medion drive contains a Seagate hard drive apparently. Link

Just walked into aldi today and got one, they had plenty

Picked up one in Tesco and used the 500 bonus point voucher for games consoles/computer accessories sent to all(?) clubcard members. Didn't scan properly at the checkout, but customer services added it manually.

Reading on Amazon this drive has mixed reviews. The most recent ones give it 4 & 5 stars but those whom had purchased the drive months ago have had a wide range of problems from drive corruption to poor build quality.
Do I buy one? If it breaks will tesco give me a full refund/replacement?

you've got to be kidding... this Hitachi hard drive is also named "simple tough". it's built with great shake proof quality, you can throw it into water or from 2-3 meters high and won't damage it.

3 years guarantee. Previously price was 97 quids and now 59. A great product!
