Polaroid at Asda only £350, or is this better ?

FVHD? Is that short for FreeView HD or some other standard I've never heard of?

Still crazy to believe you can get 55" TV's for £360. To think most people had 480i resolution TV's 32" or smaller 13 years ago.

Just a general comment about the Hitachi TV. I have an HD on of these from a year or 2 ago. Bought it after returning a digihome (think that's the name). The hitachi out of the box looked identical, so i was dreading it. The previous make would not connect to the internet services at all via wifi and it was slow. Due to the hitachi looking identical i was expecting the same. The hitachi isn't the fastest, but for the price has been a brilliant tv.

Hitachi, polaroid and many others are actually Vestel tvs badged to individual sellers, like supermarkets argos currys etc.. They will most likely be nearly identical, maybe small variations like no. of hdmi's. The apps on these are a bit limited (no amazon prime at least). There have been many postings recently for variations of this tv around this price, so I think this the "normal" price now. Budget price = budget tv so don't expect high performance but if it suits your requirements, then good luck

Oh and argos offer 30 day return policy so if a price drops within that you can just contact them and threaten a return and they will offer some reimbursement.

Good for you and Argos!

But you do have to rely on the goodwill of the retailer because you have no redress in law :D

Yes you do. Return it under warranty and buy it again. They'll pay you the difference.

No they won't. I had to contact trading standards as argos wouldn't refund my iPhone SE even though was factory sealed only because of trading standers I had a full refund Argos don't make it easy

My sister has the smaller version. I wanted to hate it but the picture is pretty good, bargain
#30
Heat added!

Now, Hmmm... do I go for this or the 55" Polaroid 4K at Asda for £349?

I'm assuming the panels are both vestel... but the rest... wonder what's better...

Actually, does anyone know if Argos for 407 vat refunds? Would be good to get an extra £70 off off...
#33
I purchased 65 inch 4k TV from the back of a lorry for £50, the insides were full of bricks such a bargain will look great on a wall mount.

Hitachi actually used to make really good TVs, my very first plasma was Hitachi which was over 2k. Obviously this isn't the same Hitachi but I wouldn't mind having Hitachi on a TV but wouldn't like having Polaroid. I know it's silly but that's the reason I'd pick this one.. but that's just me.

Why? Are you planning on playing games on it? If not, then it won't make a blind bit of difference....

I think the price gives it away; if it was a good OLED set it would now be 15000+ degrees
