On the Today Only page at Scan you can get 2 TB for just over 50 pounds. This is within an inch of the cheapest price I have every seen, and with a respectable dealer and no coupon. This offer is only valid until about 2pm today, but it may come back in a few days. And you can get free shipping via a deal with I think AVforums.

Description:

The Deskstar™ 5K3000 hard drive provides an enormous 2TB capacity and features innovative CoolSpin technology to deliver a greater level of power efficiency and quiet operation for energy-conscious, environmentally-friendly computers.

Key to CoolSpin technology is an optimization of motor speed to provide an ideal balance of performance, power utilization and acoustics. The CoolSpin technology, along with other Hitachi power management techniques, gives the Deskstar 5K3000 its 29% power savings over the Deskstar 7K3000.

Good price for a 2tb internal. I voted hot but it's still cold. I am after a drive like this but 7200rpm.

you won't get one for this price? your looking at twice as much for a drive like a WD black 2tb at £100+, or may get a cheaper one if you have a sata3 mobo.

7200rpm is a different league, and you also need to think about cooling, because it will use more energy.
Personally I am quite please with these eco drives. Yes, the access time is a bit longer, but since you mostly store big files on large drives, it does not make too much of a difference. The data transfer rate is usually pretty good, just under 100 MB/sec unless you reach the very end of the disk.
If you use it as the main drive in a PC, going for 7200rpm may be worth it - or get an SSD for a real boost. :-)

Speak as you find, of course, but I have a 7200 Western Digital 1.5tb as my main drive, took over from a 1tb Samsung 5400 and it is NOTICEABLY slower in boot up. Quite a bit slower in fact.

Is this the same as the other one from pc world?
Yes, that seems to be the same drive. Now would I rather order from PCW or from Scan ... that is a bit of an ugly choice :-(

Samsung 2tb I bought that was an Eco one at 5900 rpm has a transfer rate of 135 mb/s which is faster than the existing 1tb Hitachi's I have that are 7200 rpm and the samsung 1tb. therefore they seem to transfer files at a quicker rater so it must be improvements in technology.

If you are eligible for free delivery with Scan, then Scan..free next working day delivery (unless the drive from PCW is a retail not OEM, which it doesn't state, might be worth considering)
