Been looking around for a £80- £90 drill .this seems one of the best offers about. Considered the erbauer drill posted a couple of days back but this has better batteries but a slower charger

Decent drill and with the 2 batteries it's a very reasonable price.

I've had this drill for a couple of years, highly recommended and the torch is a nice bonus too.

That's a bargain. Well worth the money.

Yes, I paid more(£99) for a lesser model with two 1.5ah batteries which was a good deal at the time.

How does this rate compared to Bosch professional and Makita ?

I use a makita drill at work . I would think its further up the ladder than the Hitachi. Butbso is the price. Personally I've had two Hitachi cordless drills over the last 15 years. Would be happy to buy another

I bought this from B&Q a few years back for £99 and it has given excellent service.

I don't know but I have 2 of these at work which I have used a few times a week (often for drilling into solid walls) for the last 3 years. No issues. The torch is very handy too

Hitachi Power tools are being bought by KKR. So it will be yet another power tool brand that has no continuing connection to the parent company.
I would suggest it is too soon for this to have much effect on product design, quality & manufacturing.

Is this considerably better than the Ryobi deal at b&q for £69? I bought that one but would return for this one if it's better drill/driver

I appreciate the batteries are different, 1.3 vs 2.5 ah - but based on the overall package...

Bought this drill last year an it hasn't found a wall it can't drill into. I couldn't afford makita etc at the time, but this has served me well.

Would say this is a step up . I use a drill every day for work . this would do . think its quite a bit More for £20, but it should be ,your paying 20%more

These are excellent, mine has been used hard for years and still going strong.

I'm assuming the batteries for the drill will work on the torch?

i bought the ryobi deal too. don't forget ryobi one+ is a whole ecosystem so might be a better investment if you eventually buy other tools as they're cheaper to buy bare without a battery

I re-bought this to supplement the one I bought a few years ago. I was a bit surprised that the new 2.5AH batteries are exactly the same size and weight as the older 1.5AH ones :|
