I just bought the last one online but it's still available at various stores. We already have one of these (and paid a lot more for it), it boils a full kettle in about 15-20 seconds, 4 times faster than a conventional kettle...

Boils a full kettle in 15-20 seconds? Seems unlikely, is it nuclear powered?

Baahh...OOS anywhere near me

I can't find many reviews of this at all online, so not sure.

And is in stock at 4 out of 10 of my closest Currys.

This is good timing, our kettle blew up last night! Reserved one local to me

Sure it doesn't mean fast boil as in, it's insulated and can re-boil quickly as it keeps it hot?
It says it's 2.2kw, which doesn't sound like enough to boil that quickly. My kettle is a £50 philips thats >2kw and would take a good minute or two for a full kettles worth.
Perhaps you mean 15-20 seconds to boil one cup worth??

Got one of these, it's not that great. If you leave water standing in it for more than a couple of hours it tastes funny due to the plastic inner. It's also not especially quick to boil and is quite heavy. Looks nice though...

Very disappointed with this kettle.
Just rushed out to buy one as our old kettle is looking a little sad.
I will be returning this one this afternoon.

It is very heavy and slower than my old non-rapid kettle.
I tried the full kettle test and it took over three minutes. I then tried 1 litre at the same time as my old kettle that had not been previously boiled.

The old kettle finished 28 seconds sooner.

Had one of these for a few months and overall I am disappointed. The hinge arrangement of the lid is poorly designed and flimsy resulting in the lid becoming completly detached from the body - it's on its way back to the shop. It is also difficult to read how much water is in the kettle - again poor design. It boils water OK but not that quickly.

Hitachi make terrible quality kettles. Should last just outside the warranty like mine did.

2.2kwh kettle for £25 lol (£80 is a complete joke!)

mine was a tenner and is 3kwh and boils 2 cups in 30 seconds.

a classic case of the emperors new clothes

Judging by some of the comments I think I will pass on the reservation made at my local store!
