I just saw this deal at EmpireStores it's an top of the range Hitachi 37" Full HD LCD TV. The price was £979.00 but they are doing a 50% off making it £489.50 plus free delivery (without any codes). When ordering you can select the option for 20 weeks @ £24.48 (Interest Free). The second lowest price i managed to find is £579.99 delivered at Play.com.
This is an excellent deal in my opinion for a 37" Full HD LCD TV for under £500 and i guarantee you will not find this cheaper elsewhere.

Hitachis L37VP01 offers Full HD technology with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and 2.6 times more pixels compared to a standard XGA panel. The sleek styling and superb image quality make this TV the perfect addition to your home.

Features

* 37" (94cm Visible LCD Widescreen Television)
* Full HD
* 2 x HDMI Sockets
* 1000 Page Teletext
* High Resolution of 1920 x 1080 Pixels
* Integrated Digital Television (IDTV)
* 2 x SCART Sockets

you can get this at littlewoods and use the 10% discount code to get price to £440.55 + any quidco that tracks.
#2
Yes you could and if you can get any of the 25% codes to work it would make this around £367.12 which is a bargain.
#3
nice and cheap, but is it any good?

Hitachi is probably the least reliable brand of TV that I have owed, and paid 'brand name' money, rather than supermarket/makro special prices.

I think you would be hard pushed to find a cheap TV with lesser reliability.

I bought two - one for us and one for a flat I had renovated to let - and the only praise I could offer was when I took them to the dump - and threw them over the 12 foot drop at the KG5 recycling facility - neither of the screens imploded.

where are these 25% discounts for Empire Stores and Littlewoods. An urban myth I think. The best I can find, and all on the HUKD website, are 10% for electrical items

:thumbsup: Try this for the same set at Littlewoods: Link thru Quidco (9% off) And enter the following code at checkout for £30.00 off when you spend £60.00 or more - ZG381.This is the only code that I can find that is working . By my calculations it should bring the price down to £459.50 at Littlewoods then you should save another £41.36 thru the Quidco link. In total it should bring the price down to an astonishing £418.14. Give it a try - Best of Luck - That has got to be HOT.

nice price, but 800:1 contrast ratio is the dealbreaker for meh~

richer sounds doing it for £450.... ( not vp but it is the same model )
or £45 for 5 yr warrenty.

AVOID
But this tv is rubbish, for a little bit more you can get yourself a panasonic px80 37" or there are loads of other tvs at this price which are better. You can't even disable overscan, the motion blurring is terrible, bad black levels and the scaling and deinterlacing are poor. AVOID

Voted cold.

The Richer Sounds TV is a lower model and looks different.
Link to manufacturers website.

This model has 1500:1 contrast ratio not 800:1 which is the model on Richer Sounds. Although the contrast ratio is still not very high, over 1000 is ok.

The 25% codes for EmpireStores and Littlewoods have expired. This TV deal has also expired, it sold out quickly.
