i dont understand why this is hot there are so many 1TB drives online and offline for this price http://www.hotukdeals.com/search?action=search&keywords=1tb+external plus currys have a 1tb drive for £59.97 http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/446097/verbatim-1tb-external-drive-usb-2-r/ and even cheaper for makro customers.

At that time i thought the deal at currys was widely available but after reading the topic i realised alot of currys store did not have it in stock. You have a point i totally forgot about the makro and currys deal, if i knew those deals were still available i definitely would not have posted it. im sure most currys and makro would have run out of stock by now. Here is a link to where i made that post http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/448627/seagate-expansions-1tb-external-har/showpost.php?p=5861601&postcount=9 as you can see i was referring at that time to the dirves posted around £68, alot of people made several deals of 1tb drives at £68 which i thought was excessive.
i did a search for "external hard drive" http://www.hotukdeals.com/search?action=search&keywords=external+hard+drive and the currys and makro offer did not appear in the search results so i assume they were expired therefore i thoguht this price must be the best at the moment. why do you hate me so much? This is a forum all i do is discuss deals and rate them hot or cold accordingly and post deals. please stop sending me annoying pms, thankyou. Hotukdeals is i a nice friendly place to discuss deals and save money (or not) so please keep it that way.

is this USB powered only (i.e. 2.5") or does it have power supply as well?

Agreed, modern Hitachi drives are top notch. Run cool and quiet and are very reliable.
