I would really prefer a portable USB powered one... what is the lowest they have gone? I see 500gb for £50 on play, which is okay, but still prefer a bit cheaper.

Reviews on this one are very poor.

Currently showing "Order Placed", hopefully I won't get screwed this time. If I do though it's the last time I order from Play.

the usb powered ones are just smaller and portable, they offer less storage and spind much slower and you cant drop it on the floor.

Too many bad reviews for my liking.

The reviews for this are starting to worry me a little now, but it too late to cancel my order.

Have any HotUKDeals members had any bad experiences with this drive?

There will always be good and bad experiences with every product. This is one of the best price 1tb drives I have seen. And if it doesn't work, then return it. Besides hard drive producers share tech anyway so you never really know what manufacturer name often sits behind a brand.

I got mine today also and it's currently working fine.

Did yours come with any software? On the product page it says it comes with "Award-winning Fabrik backup software, including 2GB free online backup", but it didn;t seem to be included with my Drive.

I think that's a big problem with Play, sometimes it can be difficult to tell whether something is sold by Play or a Playtrade seller, it's very misleading.

Got mine. Works fine. There's a small bit of software on the drive called Turbo USB - haven't installed it though. Has anyone?

Just did a small test with the TurboUSB software included. Copied a 4GB movie file with and without TurboUSB running.
With TurboUSB it took: 2mins 24secs
Without TurboUSB it took: 2mins 56secs

Nice one. Installed. It's a nice drive. Works well. With Norton Ghost, it had a few issues which were solved successfully by not compressing the backup and dividing up the save into 10gig chunks. I am happy with the drive.
