Amazon have just dropped their price for this by £10. The next best price seems to be £49.99 from Play.

"This really is the ultimate answer to Life, the Universe and Everything - all five radio series of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy collected together for the first time, in a handsome box with magnetic lid. From the original Primary and Secondary Phases, through to the more recent Tertiary, Quandary and Quintessential Phases. Also included is an exclusive bonus disc containing two programmes from the BBC Archive: Kaleidoscope from 1980 (going behind the scenes of the second series) and Six Characters in Search of an Answer: Arthur Dent from 2002."

14 CDs in total. Duration: 14 hrs 45 mins.

This looks like a good price, especially after the dissappointment of the one I posted a week or so ago. This is the absolute complete set, whereas the one I posted (which never materialised!) just had the original 2 series.

Voted hot, although unfortunately I can't justify buying it at the moment - the tumble drier just started making a strange noise last night!!!

I'm the same. I really want this but just can't justify it after xmas.

Not to be missed. Great radio series that easily eclipses the TV series.
Shan't be participating as I've already got the lot in various guises. Including those original cassettes ;-)

This has now been reduced to £36 making it an even better deal. :)

If you bought it at the above price, you should be able to get the difference refunded.

Was just going to post this at £36 when I found your deal nightswimmer :) I think I must be getting better at searching, lol.

Anyway ! This is a superb deal, Play being about £10 dearer and mot of the other big online retailers being £80 !!

Voted HOT !

Buy it even if it bankrupts you, you never know when a new highway is going to be built and next week may be a tad to late.

R.I.P. Douglas Adams. Sorely missed.............................................

LOL, well done. :)

I wasn't sure what the etiquette was for price changes - whether I should alter the OP to reflect the price change or not (can you alter the OP for that matter?)

Yes you can nightswimmer and in this instance yes I would alter both the title and the price.
I think I'm right in saying that it's only the FS/FT forum where altering OP's is Taboo.

I'm sure a Mod will correct me if I'm wrong :)

ps. There's a strong request to put the Retailer and the Price in the title too so you have the ideal opportunity ;-)

Hope that helps !

£36 pounds, £36 paltry UK pounds !!

i have all of them too, had them for years (except the newest ones i got via bbc when they came out) kids love them i am going to buy as these are a set whilst mine are old box set and new double cd's worth it just as spares! Besides they are only 6 altarian dollars by todays exchange rate, as long as altarian dollars stay stable after their recent resumption on the galactic economy stock markets.

Not nearly so freaky as downing a few pan galatic gargle blasters whilst trying to convince Marvin that life is slightly better now that Google have worked out the answer.

Long may it remain at 42, a fitting tribute to a magnificent author.

I'm completely and utterly broke - so why did I just click 'place order'?

The same with me. After saying I wouldn't, I did, and they are here! It's a great little boxed set.
