The clever Hive Active Heating Thermostat will make you glow all over!

You can use your smartphone, tablet or laptop to control your heating and hot water (if you have a hot water tank) whether you're at home or elsewhere.

It includes installation by a British Gas engineer included in the price, no matter who supplies your energy, and it works with your existing heating system. Because you can switch off the heating remotely whenever your home is empty, you could save up to £150 a year on your heating bills.

The contemporary design will impress in any home, while the intuitive controls and easy to use features mean it's a hassle-free experience to change your settings.

Hive Active Heating wirelessly connects to your home broadband connection using the supplied hub, letting your thermostat and boiler talk to each other as you use your device to control your heating and hot water.

A voucher code is included in the box to book your installation with a British Gas engineer, who will bring the hub and receiver. Installation will take around 90 minutes.

Useful info:
•Heating and Hot Water schedules – set up to 6 daily time slots
•Heating and Hot Water Boost – for up to 6 hours
•Automatic Frost Protection – helps prevent frozen pipes
•Geolocation – heating alerts when you leave or return home
•Holiday Mode – save money and still come back to a warm welcome
•Child lock – set a pin lock on your app or thermostat
•Temperature graphs – keep track of how you are using your heating
•Receiver – lets your thermostat and boiler talk to each other

Please note: You will need a working central heating system, home broadband, a power socket located close to your router and an Android or Apple smartphone or tablet.

•Height: 100 MM

Not the reviews I've been reading! They've been pro and con for both

Please can someone explain how £150 for hive 2 with installation is cold?

Cheers op, I don't understand how this is not roasting hot.

Just ordered. OP you need to amend the discount as you only get 10% on electrical items. Still a great deal though when you include the 9 months buy now pay later.

Hello,
I have updated it

All those who keep bragging about Nest.....
They both have pros and cons.
If you are someone who would like to take control and manages your stuff then this is for you. Bought and fitted myself and zero issues in last 2 months.

I opted for this as I like to have control on my heating than allowing google to decide when to turn on my heating and when to turn off! No regrets and heat added.

PS: there are negative reviews about Hive application but latest version has no issues.

i have zero problem with hive. i fitted a hive v2 myself and its been great. i paid 125 for the kit and installed it myself so this is hot for those who cant install themselves.

I got a price off British Gas of £179 for Hive installed at the end of November during my service visit. So then i did a simple troll of the internet for reviews on both products. The reliablity of the Nest System from day one has been way superior th Hive, a good place to start is Amazon for reviews as they sell alot of these systems but also electrical suppliers etc. I made the discission to hold off for now but will install the Nest system in the New Year due to my research, As always people should check for themselves and if anyone knows what Which Magazine says about these products or others i would be most interested to hear. IMHO.

Had Hive 2 installed for over 12 months with zero issues. Chose this over the Nest as it can work from batteries (still om original set) and so does not need to be located near a power source with trailing wires, or be wired in - which was the case with Nest.

I don't like the idea of I learning system which predicts if and when the heating should come on especially when my patterns of work are so erratic. You have no option.? Also don't like the idea of google being able to track my every move nor do I like the fact that it has to be mains operated,

neither one of the hive or nest is far better than the other... with both of these it's going to come down to initial price plus the cost of the add-on components available... such as lights, power sockets, carbon monoxide detector, cameras, motion sensors, door/window sensors, etc.

I bought a hive starter pack recently, so will probably go for a hive thermostat now.

there isn't a camera or carbon monoxide detector or wireless trvs available at the moment, but price was key
