Thats the only details I have, they mentioned £70 off a ipod with trade in, all instore, I guess if you called up they could tell you more info. The link does take you to HMV page saying pretty much what I have in the listing :)

It says "save UP TO" on the website, no doubt you'll only get a fiver off for your gen 1 ipod

Avoid Skullcandy, poor build and sound quality. Unless you want to not hear your music properly for 2 months.

we got £15 off with a second gen nano. to get £99 i'd assume it'd have to be a relatively new model you'd have to trade..

HMV will, subject to these terms and conditions, accept the following iPods as a trade-in against the purchase of a new iPod Nano, iPod Touch or iPod Classic. 2. We will give you the following value for your old iPod subject to clause 6 below: • iPod Classic £30 • iPod Mini or shuffle £10 • iPod Nano £15 • iPod Touch £60

Not such a good deal when you see what the 'up to' means!

I don't know about the headphones but the trade in prices for ipods are rubbish, £15 for a 3G ipod nano I was quoted, a very misleading so called offer.

HMV store gave me £60 for ipod touch 1g (8gb) today. However their basic price for new ipod touch is RRP so this reduces the net value of the trade-in. The old device must be working - they will play 5 seconds of music (so it needs to have at least 1 track on it) + menu system needs to be working + no cracks in the casing or screen.

I have a jailbroken 1stgen ipod touch with a few scratches on screen, not heavy scratches or light ones but inbetween ;) do you think they would accept it for full value 60? And how much did you put on top for new ipod touch thanks.

can you use the skull candy headhone for gaming? (xbox)

The trade in is a bit of a rip off.

The store I went to in Oxford was very fussy. I walked away without making a purchase.

According to the HMV customer services a third party purchases the trade ins. They also told me the store would use their own discretion when accepting trade ins rather than company policy.

So, I saved some money - which can't be a bad thing ;).
