HMV online 2 for £25.00 on blu-ray + quidco

Hi all,
First post, so please be gentle! Just checked out HMV's web site and they've got an offer on - 2 blu-rays for £25. I ordered Wall-e and Fearless and got quidco too!

There's some 353 titles to choose from, so pretty decent if you ask me!

Tell me about it! I'm new to the blu-ray scene and I'm addicted already. Having to resist going mad with this one...

Upscaled DVDs are suprisingly good to my eyes, but blu-ray is just something else. The detail and lushness in the image is amazing and the sound is generally great too. Let's hope the prices in general come down a bit this year though.

This ones been around for donkeys.

Same as ASDA 2 for £20. Amazon 3 for 2 etc etc

Get most of these cheaper elsewhere. Cold for me.

Ok, so Amazon have 3 for 2, but a lot of their DVDs are priced around £16-£18, so it works out at a similar price compared to HMV. Plus HMV have a bigger selection than either Asda or Amazon in their deals. The range in Asda's 2 for £20 seems very store specific. I've not seen this deal on HMV's site or posted on here before today either. May have missed it earlier though.

Wall-E isn't region free on Blu Ray in case anyone out there is thinking of getting it and doesn't have a UK PS3 as I found out:(

No, but some Blu-ray's are region free. Wall-E just isn't one of them! I'm guessing our friend there has a non UK Ps3:?

Sheesh, does that make it a bad deal though? It seems the best around at the moment, given the range on offer and quidco. I hadn't seen it before today, but oh well...

In case anyone is wondering about the older movies, eg Dirty Harry, this site has reviews of most bd discs that include a specific section on the video transfer.

I had been wondering myself about the older stuff.

Good deal too, btw. More selection than some of the other deals.

Still vastly over priced, I refuse to buy any Blu-ray unless it is under £10, if you buy them at higher prices the prices will stay high.

Lol, I give up!! I did search and as I said before, I hadn't seen this deal at this site posted anywhere. I hadn't seen Wall-e and The Searchers together in any other deal, including Amazon. (Although I went for Fearless this time!).

I can see why people get discouraged from posting on here!

This is an old deal but still the best around. Play.com and Amazon have 3 for 2 but the blu rays are very expensive and works out around £13 a blu ray (plus they have less titles) so this is a good deal. Student discount makes it sweeter.

Delivery is shocking tho, plus they ship each item in seperate orders.
#20
what a stupid deal.

OP, get out.

guys, let's freeze this

If you happen to have an NUS card you get a further ten per cent off this. Voted hot.

No you don't. You actually have to have the HMV student discount card which you can pick up in very few stores - and they often run out. You do need an NUS card to pick one up though.

Hold on everyone, listen carefully ........

Lets all wait a week and we should all post yet another Blu Ray deal.

How about a BRAND NEW ONE like ASDA 2 for £20 or maybe an Amazon 3 for 2 or you never know there even may be a surprise around the corner and The Hut may be doing a 2 for £24.

Just a hunch though as I have not seen any posts like this before (taking into account ignoring the last 50 posts in 3 weeks about the same thing !!)

Wot yous all reckon...

:-D
