Ok, so i've not looked yet, it might be a rubbish deal, but as it says really, upto 70% off cds, dvds and games at HMV online.
Pretty much standard sale i guess.
Quidco is 11% i believe on their sales, might be worth a go

Very strange that they have a pic of Ice Age 2 in the banner for the sale, yet it's not on sale :-D

was £15 for a while

Not every item is going to be cheap. Please check prices before buying or post here for getting help.

Thanks boydent999 :santa: voted hot ++

The sale is a strange one... As Dave said a lot of things where cheaper a few weeks ago... Also the sale on play.com has a lot better prices for many dvds especially box sets. However on HMV they have certain DVD's at £2.99 which are great like:

Ace Ventura
The Usual Suspects
Donnie Darko
Go
Interpreter
Pianist
And many more...
Also these £2.99 deals change daily so i was recommend checking regularly.

However somes of the prices compared to play.com are much worse such as:

Godfather Trilogy: HMV: £23.99 Play: £17.49
Pulp Fiction: HMV: £5.99 Play: £4.99
Rocky Anthology: HMV: £49.99 Play: £24.99

I would say the prices are mostly better at Play.com however i would definately advise you to check both websites and others for the best prices

Also, if buying some items that add up to £35 or more, you might be able to use the £5 off £35 discount in the voucher section :sant

Quidco is 7.5% now :)

That's not much to smile about, it was 11% yesterday.

The Prisoner box set for £15.99 is tempting.

Good call Rayman

I was sad to see it down from 11% without any warning of a rate change coming..

When I lost my 10% student discount on everything, the 11% from QuidCo kinda made me feel better - I hope this is a 'sale' only rate and that it returns to 11% in the new year

I've just checked some presents I bought on the 3 for £15 a few weeks ago - they're all at £5.99 each now :giggle:.

That 11% was great while it lasted :)

the more you spend going through quidco = the higher % cashback

so in theory id guess january would see the return of the crazy amount of 11% and better cashback all round across vendors, assuming a lot of us went mental for presents in the last few weeks/ jan sales
#17
Let's hope so :santa: That 11% has helped a lot this year :santa:

The 11% would just have been a crimbo plot to get advertisers advertising HMV instead of CD wow or something similar. Most retailers do it, misco went up to 8% for instance and will now drop back down.

As for sales. Hmm, I always been sceptical about january sales. There are some genuine bargains. However it seems to me that they put prices up before crimbo, say 2 months before, but we don't really notice that much, and then bring them back down to normal levels again afterwards and call it a sale. That's just my stance on it anyway.

i'm not sure if i will order from HMV again, even if they are cheaper because of vouchers and quidco.

my brother and i ordered 7 dvds and 1 album over a week ago and despite all the items being instock at the time of the order and being well within the delivery date, only 2 dvds have arrived and a couple have been recently dispatched and some of them are now on backorder from their suppliers without notifying us :(

This has ruined our christmas, as the whole family is having a gathering and we'll be opening presents together but now i have to tell my little niece and nephew that HMV ruined there christmas :(

My brother also tried to call them and after being on hold for more than half an hour, the phoneline suddenly died.
My brother tried to call them once again and after being on hold for 40 minutes this time, the person on the other line hung up the phone while my brother was explaining the initial problem without being rude in the slightest.

we've now decided to buy it in store and send the others back once they arrive but does anyone know if they'll cause any problems?

I had the same problem with getting cut off. I solved it by giving my number to the rep as soon as I was connected.

I've had similar problems with them, although my most important item was ordered on the 3rd and was only sent on the 21st :(. Their phone lines are pretty useless - I sat in the queue for 20mins only to get through to a person-less headset. I called again (and waited again), and told the person I spoke to that it sounded like someone had walked away without going to "not ready" and they didn't care.

You are covered by the distance selling act, so you can send them back unopened within 14 days, however it's likely you'll have to foot the bill for return postage, and they might also ask a restocking fee.

Have a look at their RETURN'S POLICY
