Buy one get one free is better marketing strategy. Although it's not really different.

I finished my last day of working there today (it was my Saturday job for the past 4 years). I'm happy to see that this is going cold, sometimes I wish I could tell customers that they could buy what they needed online for much cheaper. I really disliked this promotion because a lot of customers are confused by the penny thing, instead of it just being buy one get one free. Not to mention most of the time we didn't have enough stock of the things that are on offer as a lot of the time is is stock that they can't shift so once it has all sold that is it.

I heard the VAT was increased on the bodybuilding/exercise supplements, so that is the supposed reason for the price increases. It is ridiculous though, the big pots of whey protein used to be £20-24.99 when I first joined. Now they are over £40. They keep increasing all of the prices across the shop, so the VAT increase just seems to be an excuse. I guess when they are the only herbal remedy/supplement shop that has the biggest range and are in many high streets across the country then they can get away with the prices they charge..

Don't know how they stay in business, can get most of what you need in Asda or Boots at half the price.

I had a look online of something I usually buy - its only cheap usually so I probably cant complain, but they hiked it up to more than double the price for this offer. I could buy two cheaper before the deal. Doesnt make sense. But thanks for your post Munchkins14, I'll look around online for a cheaper alternative. Amazon are usually decent.
