You know what? I done away with my cordless phones cos

a) we were always losing them down the sofa or left them outside
b) they run out of juice while using them cos no-one put them back on the base
c) they are bad for you!!

So I voted this hot!! xxxx

I have this exact phone and it works very well. Good sound quality, loud ringer, easy to use, not much more to it. You can't fault it for £3 .

you miss the point that it says nothing about claiming to be a skype! and so you cant rate it cold! also its not about opinion its about the price of a good and this is cheap!

you should buy an actual Skype phone!
#11
:-D very funny. Some people expect £3 phone to work with skype. Proper Skype phones are there for a reason.
#12
Looks like a very bland phone, price is probably right.

And what sort of idiot just buys a phone assuming it will work with Skype. Would be dangerous if you had half a brain.

Maybe I should vote it cold because it doesn't do Bluetooth either!
I'm joking - and I sure hope others are too! Heat and Rep added!

It also doesn't say it isn't a tent. I wouldn't advise taking it camping though...

It probably won't make toast or iron your shirt either - but what's that got to do with it?

This is a Tesco Value phone too and It's 8p cheaper there!!! lol :p

Sadly, the Tesco Value version also does not do Skype.

I assumed that was a wind up, lots have people have bitten if it was.

If it wasn't then you've got bigger issues than a £3 phone not working on skype.

Nor does a tin of beans but you wouldnt say they are rubbish cos of it :whistling:

I think it does actually DO SKYPE!! You just need to upgrade it to the latest firmware - it's a bit fiddly - but here's how...

Remove the standard BT plug, keeping a careful note of which colours go to which pins, then attach the blue and white cables to a standard UK mains plug - plug the phone into the mains and then just make one call - I guarantee that this will solve all your Skype compatibility issues ;-)

There is one VERY good reason for all cordless phone owners to buy one ot these... this phone will work in a power cut, when your cordless ones don't. I have an old corded phone that I keep just for this reason.

dont most people have mobiles these days? :?

I bought this phone a few months ago when i moved house and needed a cheap phone quickly because the phone socket was nowhere near a plug, but we still use it, and actually prefer this to our old all singing all dancing monster.

2 Problems:

1. Phone is incredibly lightweight. A stiff breeze can blow it off your table top.
2. Ringer can be set incredibly loud but does occasionaly mistake itself for a songbird and chirks away quietly to itself.

Cant go wrong at this price really and has SAVED me money having to go out and buy a much more expensive phone to do the job this already does.

My cordless phone works in a powercut - it has a battery backup in the base station for just such an event. :)

In the olden days, I had phones with buttons on like the picture, but a pushing them only made the pulse sounds of a rotary phone!

Of course this was about 20 years ago. I think nowadays all phones are touch tone and work with skype.
