Went to Homebase today and noticed they have another 10% off day (including everything in store, sales prices and all). Presume this is a national promotion, I picked up a leaflet in the Stevenage store.

First post - didn't see it listed by anyone else!

And you're suggesting B&Q is cheap?

Most local independent builders merchants beat B&Q hands down. Paint often cheaper in Decorators Centres.

Ask the counter staff for a 'friends and family' 20% voucher - say you will take out a homebase credit card.
As they seem to get a commission - or at least some form of reward - they will readily hand them over.
The credit card APR is 27%! so don't use it or at least make sure you pay it off - or cut it up!
I recently bought flooring on a 10% day with the additional 20% as well ( but the price went up immediately preceding the weekend!).

Beware the 10% day - many of the offers are stopped just preceding the 10% weekend..............

Yes. 10% has long been a bloody con. It's only any good for paint. Virtually everything else in Homebase is way overpriced. Some good clearance deals on occasions, but that's normally store by store.

HOWEVER. A friend of mine bought a dining set recently from Milton Keynes or around there and asked for a discount. Without haggling, a further 20% came off. Store manager said that there was a directive from Head Office to shift stock as the January sales had been so poor.

So, make an offer and see what response you get. Probably best to speak to a section or store manager.

It certainly worked for me 2 years ago. Bought 2 beadsteads for the price of one......
