Professional DIY'er.

Who pays who?

Does he give himself 3 quotes then pays himself the middle amount?

When he leaves for work in the morning does he drive round the block and then parks on the pavement outside his own house?

What if he does a bad job? Who does he complain to?

Just wondered.

Time to go to bed.

That's not the same.
The costlier one looks to be better made inc an on off switch and the cable channel for rewinding but they are similarly rated, so £5 less if you want to forgo those two which does make it a better product.

Heat added, thanks. Don't need one but a good bargain anyhow.
If this comes with two batteries, even 1.3Ah ones, then they're worth most of the £60 on their own, making the drill body itself very cheap.
I have this drill and its brilliant, mine came with two batteries. It will do everything you need a drill to do, drilling (well duh) Screwing and even hammer drill setting. It has a light on the battery so when you use it, it very clear in even the darkest of places.

I would highly recommend it for a round the house drill. Thats what I use it for so I cant say if you intend to use it in the work place
I've got a couple of the green drills at similar prices from B&Q in the past, I think they are good value and when I asked Bosch you can use the higher rated batteries in the Power4all range. They've recently released a 2.5amp battery but unfortunately you need a different shape charger for it or I saw on Amazon there seems to be a generic 3.0amp battery for the range:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Powerextra-Professional-Lithium-Ion-Battery-Power-4-All/dp/B01B9AP1C6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1475174148&sr=8-3&keywords=bosch+power4all

However, if you've a bit more to spend on it I can recommend the blue version (GSB18-2-li) as I have this one to continue my trend of "all the gear but no idea" as it feels much more solidly built with the sensitivity on the trigger is much better but if a fellow enthusiastic amateur both do most the jobs round the house.

which I have seen the 2amp two battery version on screwfix in the past for £99 but they only seem to have the single 4amp battery version. Next best price at present I could see was:

https://www.angliatoolcentre.co.uk/bosch-gsb182li-plus-18v-combi-hammer-drill-with-batteries-pid43796.html?gclid=CJS_9MSbtc8CFQaVGwodRtYOyQ

Hope this helps
Disco Dave
Sure I just saw the same drill in Screwfix catalogue £99.99

No you didn't. Screwfix don't sell the "green" household models, only the "Blue" Pro versions.

As for this drill, the clutch brake on it is too sharp for the lightweight chuck and keeps loosening when you stop it and the drill bits fall out. It did on mine, and loads of people say online they have the same issue. Took mine back and got a Dewalt which has been faultless.

If you rarely use a drill, then this will be fine, otherwise get something a bit better like the Bosch Blue, Dewalt or Makita. Even Hitachis are better than this.

My advice would be to buy the few branded Dremel bits that you will actually use / need.

I was talking to a staff member about these recently as was looking to buy the 200 piece professional kit and apparently all parts including moving parts in Ratchets are now covered. Always worth asking in your local store when buying but hopefully they are being a bit more flexible now!

Just bought myself one. Now to get our skirting finally sorted (and save paying a couple of days labour for somebody else to come in and do it!)
When doing internal mitres it's best not to mitre but over scribe , just cut a more then follow the cut line with a jigsaw , much better finish as rooms aren't square
Thanks for the tip. Will have to give that a try once I understand what it is you mean exactly :-)
You can see here in steps 9 and 10 -http://www.self-build.co.uk/how-fit-skirting-board
I used a jigsaw to cut the profile line (where the paint ends and cut wood starts)

Thanks very much for the link Airfix. Had a look then also watched a couple of you tube videos and now understand what you mean and think I'll be going with your suggestion.

Let the fun begin :-)

I have just used the endurance on my dining room following the promotion a few weeks ago and I am not very impressed with the endurance aspect, it has come off the wall where a chair has rubbed against it, seems to have peeled off rather than scratched .. not a happy bunny
Did you have a good surface to paint onto? I.e. sand off any sheen from the previous paint. Wash the wall with sugar soap.
We've scratched, scuffed, knocked the wall over the course of two years and it goes back to looking perfect with a wipe of a cloth.
mmm probably not :D ... it was re-plastered about two years ago and just had emulsion paint on it, it did go on thickly and the rest of the room is fine but I wasnt impressed with the way it literally peeled off where the chair bumped it, maybe expecting too much but it did come off extremely easily.
Classic indication that the new plaster was not prepared properly before painting. Plaster needs time to dry, and first coat of paint should be a very diluted mist coat. Putting undiluted paint on to new plaster will inevitably lead to it peeling off. Just google it and you will get my drift.

Was done before we moved in but sounds about right as the rest of the plastering they did just drops off when panting it

Gateshead rang me to tell me they didn't have enough stock to fulfil all the orders overnight, and Blyth has also got shut of all it's stock since last night. D'oh.
As an occasional DIYer I ordered a few of these Guild sale items showing in stock at Rayleigh Weir and they called a couple of hours ago to say everything baring the reciprocal saw was out of stock despite showing otherwise on the website - apparently there's a bit of a rush on this morning! Think these are really good offers and can't see them hanging around at these prices so get them while you can.
I've tried again for another store, just waiting to see if they call up with the same story as it's quite a way away.
I ended up getting them in the Southend store. Really pleased with my purchases and ideal for what I need them for. Good luck with yours.

Cheers, wasn't in stock either, the guy seemed a bit annoyed when I said I wouldn't be picking up the other reserved bits either but oh well, apologised for wasting his time.

I would not put cat food on something so stupid

Clearly plates aren't always round. Can you see the picture? No need to be so snidey, people interested in a product like this on a site like this just want to know if it's a good deal or not. Personally I don't like square crockery, but to call it 'stupid' is pointless, as it's down to personal taste. I would also argue that square plates could actually be more space-efficient when it comes to storage. That's one reason the Japanese invented square water melons.
I need to know the depth of these... the diameter mentioned; is it on the diagonal or one of the sides?!?!?
