These guys were on watchdog, they dont look like a very good company from what I seen
They were ripping off old people with the heating grants I think

I've used Homeserve twice in the past year .. Locksmith and Plumber. both reasonably priced services as they were for emergencies and the turn around time for both tradesmen was very quick (within 2 hours for both)

I wouldn't personally knock the HomeServe Service.

(This is personal experience, others may differ .. but 2 out of 2 services I would give 100% for satisfaction).

The Price: Reasonable (But say no to the first price if calling)
Service: Quick

please check section 'what is not included'
first £50 of each claim and annual service is not included. which i think you have to in order to validate the policy. so cold for me. i rather go with AA £22 pm all in incl. annual service. also quidco.

This company are a joke! I had no hot water last April when my son was only one and the earliest they could send an engineer was 5 days after I'd called them. Considering it wasn't a busy time, there was no bad weather and I live in a central area, this was bang out of order. Cancelled immediately!

Yes, similar issue - they said they were contracted only to respond with an appointment time within 24hrs... which is the easy bit. Its getting someone round to fix the boiler you want! When i asked why they couldnt come sooner, response was 'the bloke who usually covers your area is on a training course'... what great service!

Considering it wasn't a busy time, there was no bad weather and I live in a central area, this was bang out of order. Cancelled immediately!


I had a similar experience myself... they don't seem to be very customer oriented IMO.
Having said that BG was not much better for me either... Anyone can recommend a decent company in this field??

Yep company is a joke i had it as a bolt on to my home insurance. It was suppose to be a peace of mind, so when my water pump blew up last winter and i took a day off. The guy came round and said yep its broken and went away and said he'll phone for the part and someone else would call me back and fix it. I waited till 6pm; called them back and they said they'll call me back.. and they didnt. So called them again at 7pm and office was closed, so called next morning and they told we that they will not replace it cos it's wear and tear. The *****ds can say it's wear and tear on anything.
So steer clear. ITS ALL A CON!!!

You basically get nothing for your monthly premium, might aswell flush the cash down the loo.
After 2 days of nothing and contacting my insurance company to complain, I ended up paying for a plumber myself because there was a great risk of the pipes freezing over.
Paying £9 a month for the privelege of a waiting for a guy to come round to say it's broken.....bargain...not! (WATCHDOG I think)

no hot water and heating from July this year.end of October is here.we have sent in a complaint and have only gave us £200. towards a new central heating boiler. its only 5 years old and we are on full complete cover .we have got in touch with ombudsman. trying to get in touch with watchdog too. need sorting out
