Cant see what the fuss is about. I will get a cat 6 phone when my mast is upgraded but then ill get a p9 lite not this. Phones are at saturation point cold from me
Eh!?!? your post makes NO sense at all. This is about a deal on a phone, not what you think of the phone market....
p9 lite looks great but is missing a compass sensor (as is the moto G4) If you use google maps in any capacity when you are out and about the compass is very usefull and arguably essential for sat nav to function smoothly. Serious question, what comes close to this for sub 300 with compass and NFC?
A deal on a phone that's not worth buying is still not a deal. I have 8 phones 2 of which I bought for less than 30 quid on eBay. There is no need To buy this over the p9 lite 4gb ram in a phone is stupidly big. Get some clue before you post next time

Good advice. I've cancelled my order and getting a Nokia 3210.

Would anyone know how this compares to the Google Pixel XL? Have been quite ignorant of phones not made by Samsung and the Pixel is too expensive at the moment. (currently have a Samsung note)
stick with Samsung the Samsung galaxy7 edge is pound for pound as Google as the pixel xl and in some reviews better.also it's cheaper if you can wait till feb/March the Samsung galaxy8 will be released.makes the pixel xl look ordinary.
Samsung phones are over priced 'pound for pound'

I'm happy to wait but really confused on what phone to get now, as the notes have also been discontinued. :(

It might be better for me to stay with Vodafone on a sim only deal, in the hope they'll give me a good deal on the s8 when it comes out. Was in the process of leaving them and moving to the virgin media rolling contract but they probably won't welcome me back with open arms if I do that!!

I've jut got off the pixel xl band wagon today as it's just too expensive - really liked the look of it but hukd community helped talk me out of it!!

I bought my Honor 6 from Amazon almost 2 years ago. Headphone socket went faulty couple of months ago, and they sent a brand new one! It's a fantastic phone, and great customer service from Amazon. Highly recommend Huawei.

I heard the honor are releasing new phones this month, what are the software updates on this phone?. Last I checked is was 18 month then eol.

A new honor being announced next week. Might be worth waiting to see what's coming and at what price point.

2 years. Unfortunately this was enforced post Honor 7 so I won't be getting Android N.

It depends if price is a factor. I just sold my s7 and got the honor 8. I have had phones from LG, htc, Samsung and honor. I have had the honor 6, 7 and now the 8. Personally for design and look this is a better phone. Of course if you want a larger screen the xl and the s7 edge is the one to go for. But pound for pound performance camera, battery for the price you can't go wrong. If you want a larger screen I would say go the 3t in terms of price vs performance and smaller screen i would say go for this. What you will get with the pixel is software updates which Samsung are slow at and probably won't get the new version untill the s8 as they want people to upgrade to the s8. The s8 probably won't be able to buy till end of March beginning of April. I would say.

Some speed performance test

yes, oneplus 3t is next best thing after S7, another option is HTC 10

Honor 8 will get Nougat update in Feb. It's a great phone.. would recommend. One plus 3T is better but costs more.

it is a great phone...got mine for £258 few weeks ago. I have been using honor phones for the last 3 years... started with 6 then 7 and now 8. I always managed to get a good deal on a new one and a year later I sold it on eBay for more than what I paid for it and bought the newer model. great phones and they keep their value

The only thing to bear in mind with the OnePlus is the camera is not that good and also just an HD screen (not too much hassle for normal use, but if you ever wanted to use it with a VR headset).

Apart from that a great phone and going to hold out with my Galaxy S5 until the OnePlus 5 is released and see what that has to offer.

Cheers OP been on the look out for one of these. Noticed that Amazon.it have the white version for a similar price with a good conversion. This saves the hassle tho.

I've got this phone and it does the trick just fine. For similar price point, the oneplus3 performs better, thus the main factor for me I was able to get Honor 8 on contract with three for a great deal.
So the phone itself is strong enough to run everything seamlessly, the dual cam at the back isn't anything to write home about, the one internal speaker gets the music out clear but not very loud even on highest. Honor 8's own interface "MEUI" is a hot mess but with a little fiddle around you'll be able to get launchers on it from play store. Autosmart Wifi works amazing, so as the eye protection on screen.
The bf has S7, pays double the price for it and I really don't see a vast difference on day to day use to justify the price tag.
Since I have the phone, 2 updates were released with the 3rd on the way with android 7.0 in February. The fingerprint sensor at the back is great and has clever additions. The phone itself is beautiful but very slippery so get a case asap, factor it into the price.
Bottom line, it's a great phone for the price with very little compromise.

For me I'm leaning towards One+3T or 'flagship killer' ZTE Axon 7...both a bit out of my price range currently but keeping an eye on them...there is a handy comparison aricle here for honor 8 Vs Axon7
http://www.androidauthority.com/zte-axon-7-vs-honor-8-710753/

but for those to busy trawling through HUKD to read it all :D here the bottom line..
"If you’d like a smaller phone with a better camera and IR blaster, the Honor 8 is likely the best choice for you. However, if you’d rather have a better audio experience, better battery life, and a better software experience, you can’t go wrong with the ZTE Axon 7."

Tempted to replace my Nexus 6 which is starting to feel a little long in the tooth. Hot at this price (although lots of places are selling below rrp but not quite this cheap)

Bought this for the wife before Xmas. Fantastic phone, boots my nexus 5x down the stairs. Wife came from the Lumia 1050 with the 40mp camera and she isn't disappointed with the camera in this. This is all the phone you'll ever need, and fact its from amazon who won't shirk any responsibility means its a no brainer. Buy it!

The Axon's styling put me off. I love the stereo speakers on my old MotoG2, but the grilles on the Axon look a bit tacky. Otherwise I'd have gone for it over the Mi5s.

Hi quick question about your comment, did you get 2 year warranty for the phone with Amazon or the manufacturer? I have a Honor 6 from Amazon too, would I contact Huawei or Amazon for issues I have with it?
#35
in real world usage you will see little to no difference between this and the OP3T. Graphics proc on the OP3T is superior but this is a solid contender for the value for your bucks crown handset. Only issue for someone who likes to tinker with their ROMs.. not a lot of choice for Kirin based SOCs which is the only downside. if however you are not one of those people and are happy with the manufacturer based ROMs and updates then I'd seriously consider this handset. what you are getting for the price at £290 is seriously on par with majority of the "flagships" out there. plus it looks amazing..good deal imho

pixel is the best phone out there by far. all manufacturers get something wrong. Google make their phone ideal, they set the bar for other manufacturers to then go ahead and copy from/compete with.

is this 1080p I'm thinking of upgrading my s5 in a few months & I like playing with the VR headsets & my brother has a Sony phone which has a 4k screen I think & its so much better than my S5.

it is 1080p however given the display size 5.2" it's more than clear enough. most apps can only drive at 1080p anyway so unless the app supports 1440p it's pointless. bear in mind a 4k screen will require more power so will drain the battery quicker. 1080p at this size is perfect.

Sorry, always will - but colded purely because of Amazon.

They're freakin' useless, incompetent jokers. Do business with them at your own peril if you buy expensive stuff!

If you're buying some clothes pegs or anything under £30 I'd say "risk it" otherwise, you've been warned.

No one has mentioned it but Honor/Huawei software is seriously janky in my opinion. If this doesn't bother you then they are solid devices but you have to do a lot of housekeeping and disabling of settings to stop the software feeling intrusive - e.g. making sure certain apps are 'allowed' to run in the background. As an example, Google Photos doesn't run in the background for me - I have to open it to start the upload process. I've not gotten around to looking into this. I also have found on occasion that I don't get WhatsApp notifications even though this app is set to stay in the background (from the multitask menu). Another annoyance is that only one app can use the lockscreen for controls, so I can't use Spotify AND Pocketcasts - if I'm listening to a podcast and want to pause it I have to pick the phone up, unlock it, swipe down to access the notification area and hit pause there. Not the end of the world but it's begun to annoy me. I am not a fan of Samsung and LG but their software is a LOT more solid than Huawei's - even EMUI with Nougat doesn't fix a lot of the problems I've had with the software.

Genuinely can't fault the hardware though, it's as good as a Samsung in terms of feel-in-hand, fit and finish and Huawei make nice displays, especially if you prefer IPS to AMOLED as I do.
