Was looking for a new washing machine and found this. It seems to be a good machine at a very good price. Next cheapest i found was at empiredirect - £265 inc del.

Quidco is also available and there are a few vouchers available for littlewoods direct BUT there is a problem with the website at the moment. It does not allow me to add this machine to the basket (their technical support are aware of the problem). So i had to order on phone but if you wait a while you will probably save some money once they have fixed the website.

According to Which Magazine Hoover is the worst make of washing machine you can buy.

I would have to disagree with Which? slightly. I have always had hoover washing machines and although they have not been trouble free, they have been cheap and easy to fix due to readily available at a low cost. My present machine has only broken down twice in about 6years.

That’s a good price even after you add £3.50 for delivery. I’ve owned and repaired two Hoover washing machines in the past 32 years. The second one is still going and the parts have been fairly easy to obtain. I would have bought another Hoover when the time came but things have changed. Candy bought Hoover in 1995 and the quality of Hoover machines seems to have descended to the point where they have to be compared with those at the bottom of the budget range.

A low price doesn’t necessarily equate to good value for money.;-)

As stated by OP order on line not working. As a first time customer & quidco, this could bring it down to around £130 delivered using a £20 voucher, but over the phone option won't save me more money, so I will wait & see if website gets fixed. Otherwise, looks a good deal.

:-( Just phoned them its an error - they wouldn't honour the price either

Would have been a cracking deal else!!

I ordered mine over the phone this morning and they quoted me something like £230. I told them the web price of £158 and they matched it as long as i opened a credit account (i initially wanted to pay via credit card but they said that they would charge me full price and then refund the difference once i had taken delivery). I got passed from one department to another and 30 mins later had confirmed my order and price.

I logged the complain about the website fault a few days ago and they told me that they were aware of the problem and i should keep checking back to see if they had fixed it. Today i decided not risking waiting any longer and thats why i decided to order over the phone.

They should honour the price as they never told me that it was a misprice when i spoke to them earlier.

Nah. That honour must go to hotpoint! :p

I've owned both machines & couldn't agree more, hotpoint drum bearings last 2-3 years tops. No problems with the hoover yet, after 5 years.

Hotpoint used to be brilliant before they were bought by Indeshit who also own Creda Ariston and other such unreliable brands. My local second hand salesman refuses to stock the newer hotpoint machines because of their problems. He recommends Miele or Bosch.

I'd be surprised if littlewoods honoured the prices you are quoted. their reputation is useless. Make sure you check your bills.

csiman is correct,
l ordered this and they said they'd honour the price , just checked my account with them and sure enough their trying to charge me the full price, well if they try that they can stick it where the sun do'nt shine !
#15
I just checked my account and i have been charged £239 for it.:x
Just had a right go at them over the phone and they have promised to give me it at £158 as it was on the website. It wasn't a misprice, their website was not working properly so they SHOULD honour the price.
I will keep you guys informed once i receive the machine and also my statement. (ETA end of feb)

can anyone tell me what they were charged for this as they once again told me they would honour this price and never, now the customer service rep is saying she ca'nt find it at the inital price of £158 , does anyone have a snapshot of it at that price so l can send it to her ?
many thanx Nick

Hi! First post here, so hope its done right.
I ordered this for a customer from Kays site which at the time was showing £178. Ordered over the phone as couldnt do it online. She said she would make a note on the account to allow it for £178 once it was delivered as it was currently showing up as £269. I rang the next day to make sure the note was on the account, which it was.
About a week or so later it got delivered so i rang to confirm they would take off the difference before the machine was used which they said they would do.

Customer then goes ahead and uses the machine. I then ring a few days later as i cant see any credits on my account, lady says she will take it off as it didnt get done before. She then rings me 5 mins later saying its not possible as the machine was never £178 to start with!!! :x

I argue about why put notes on the account etc if no notice taken and say they will have to pick the washer up then and do a return. When told it had been used she said that wasnt possible and now the customer is left with a £269 washing machine that should have been £178.

This Kays catalogue i have ran for about 4 years now with no probs after paying up Littlewoods and leaving them because of bad customer service after 8 years. Now littlewoods have taken over and this incident has happened i think its time i looked elsewhere again.

Has anyone got any proof at all of this original low price of this machine? I was convinced i had saved a screen shot (learnt my lesson from before) of this but do not seem to be able to find it.
Sorry for rambling but im really mad at them. Great site by the way.
