just looked at this and the 50% is already taken off. I put one in my basket as was just putting an order in for here and it stays at £39.99 so the 50% has already been taken off.
#2
It takes £20 off at the check out and adds postage
#3
Thanks matey and it does subtract at the checkout stage. First present of next xmas in the bag.
#4

Great find thanx very much, bought this from TRus just before christmas so going to (ahem) return this one for a £20 saving!!!! Youre a star!!! voted hot!!

BTW, for anyone buying this, it is REALLY fast!!!! 3.5yr old is constantly making it flying off, not just derailing and its quite fragile too being a "proper" set (yes I know hes to young for it but you try getting him to have a Thomas the tank set, according to him "they are for babies"!!! :0) . Think this may be going away for a while if I can distract him long enough ;0). Its the same as his "my first scalextric, why dont they think of this, the cars go round in a blur and come off every corner like little missiles despite the guard rails...... little un thinks its dead funny though and they (unlike this) are built to take it :0)
#9
Hope he enjoys it anyway!

A very good find, I just hope they actually send these to people that have ordered them before they sold out.
A while back, they had a deal of the day price on a more expensive hornby set. I purchased one as soon as the deal of the day kicked into action, paid etc and got my confimation e-mail. 2 and a half weeks later and still no sign of it.
I e-mailed, and they said they would contact me the next day, never did. I called and they said it had been sent and I had signed for it. Then said they would call me back, did call me back but said sorry there was a cockup we will give you your money back as we don't have any left to send :x

I have never used Wilkinsonplus before but thought it was a good company (something a little different to the likes of Littlewoods etc), but they seem to have a pretty awful delivery and stock management service, unless it just goes crazy :santa: at christmas.
Fingers crossed this one will arrive. I ordered it 10 mins after the OP for this thread and it didn't say anything about not being in stock. This is wilkinsons last chance! :x

Ordered this for my son's birthday in April. It knocks £20 off at the checkout, superb cheap birthday present. Many thanks.
#17
Just received an email from WilkinsonPlus saying that they are going to refund me, I had received a confirmation email and have taken payment. Can they do this ? I had placed my order and got confirmation at 8:05am

I am very sorry to say this, but this company is complete C*AP
See my other post. I ordered this set in good time when they were all in stock. I now get an email from them this morning, saying my refund has been processed for £22.94 (the price of the set with postage and £20.00 sale discount taken off) and sorry for any inconvineince.
No correspondence as to why they have chosen to give me a refund.
Last time they told me that the item had definitely been delivered, I hunted the garden high and low in case the delivery man had hidden it somewhere for them to then say oh no sorry we never even had the item to deliver to you. What a complete load of sh*t. I'm never using them again, is it just me who keeps getting this awful level of service or are people actually getting items from them, I never get annoyed but this has really, doesnt matter. I thought this was a good company but the service I have got from them is the worst I have ever had.
Don't waste your time with them.

I'm more annoyed since I ordered this for my son from his Christmas Money. The account status still shows Released for Despatch. I agree they are C*RP and will not be using them again.

Just had a phone call and e mail. Out of stock, order cancelled and money being refunded.
Damn.
Very annoying as it should have been delivered today.
#21
It is the second time they have done this to me, and I am not letting this go. Last time I was really nice and OK about it, and didn't even complain despite it being a week until Christmas when they told me they could not help me and that the item was out of stock.
I was really surprised when I put the phone down as to just how un-annoyed I was. Probably because I really thought it was a good company unlike Argos and Littlewoods who have built up a history of being problematic (not that they are now). But this time I am very annoyed. I will let you guys know what the result is as I have just sent a very angry e-mail. :x

I bought the more expensive hornby set and recieved it so I will stick up for them on that one. However I ordred the local freight set yesterday and it doesnt look like I will get one although I am confused as at 8.12 I had an email to say it was despatched but at 9.08 another email saying £19.99 has been refunded. Has anyone else had this happen?
#23
Just spoken to them on the phone, and they say that it is due to a stock error, that the system has just updated itself. She then said that they have been out of stock for some weeks and they will not be getting any more. I work in Logistics and for a system not to be updating in real time for a retail business is Bulls**t. They are making excuses. Will not be using again.

Ah ok so you are the first person I know of who received the expensive set. Don't suppose you know what sort of time you ordered that do you? As on that day when they did the deal I ordered it about a minute after they came up as being on deal of the day. So they were definitely in stock when I placed my order.

With regard to your current order, I would ignore the 'dispatched' email, if you have had a refund one come through, then you won't get it. This is just what happened with my last order.

Well done for calling, I would have got a bit too angry on the phone. Well, I am not letting them get away with this. Not for the second time. What sort of system are they running?! I don't know much about the logistics systems but agree if its not working in real time, that is a complete load of rubbish. Also I ordered the set 2 or so days ago, so why has it taken a couple of days for them 2 realize they don't have it in stock, just not good enough.

You'll be wasting your time, just spread the word to boycott Wilkinson Plus.

Wouldn't be too sure on that. I had my train set and a bottle of pepsi last time and they canceled the lot. No pepsi or train.
#30
Had the same - called them and moaned that they have taken my money and charged me delivery on a pack of batteries - THEY DON' CARE - WILL NOT SHOP WITH THEM AGAIN!:x
I have had the same thing with Argos TWICE in the past two days - and they all get to "KEEP" MY MONEY FOR 7-10 DAYS....WHAT A joke!

Yeah it was ordered at about 10.00 on the day they did deal of the day. I believe the offer started at 8.00.
I too have ordered other things with this order which I dont want now as I am not paying 2.95 postage for....but what is the point of telling me its despatched then refunded? They are just trying to make it harder to cancel the rest of my order.
As for being out of stock of the freight for a couple of weeks thats rubbish as only a few days ago on xmas eve their system was updated with 50% off so why put it on if there is no stock?
#32
Just had my email and phone call, Im REALLY annoyed, as it was it was just going to be returned to Toysrus to effectively save £20 so I cant moan too much but what about those who ordered for their little ones (or themselves?!?). Wilkos suck big time and I for one wont be using their ****** service again!!!!

Still BIG thanks to OP as this SHOUDL have been a good deal!!!

I don't think they are trying to make it harder for you. I think as user e604005 has said, they seem to have a totally useless computer system or stock management system. Most probably, when there is activity regarding the item you ordered on their system, it makes the system email you, which is why you got a dispatched email and then the stupid system realizes that there inst any in stock so it gives you a refund and sends you an email for that. Its a real muck up, they need to sort it out.

Yes well done OP just a shame we all didn't know what a awful company wilkoplus has turned out to be. It was a very good deal, I didn't know about this Toysrus thing. I wasnt interested in that, just wanted one for the family, and have been since late November when I made my first order on the more expensive set. A complete disappointment. :x

At least you got the postage back then. But still its not very acceptable. I am really glad sites like this exist as its an excellent way to gain knowledge on companies aswell as see which ones are doing good deals. It was from this site I learned about the big problems users had with littlewoods, GUS and marshallward and because of those comments, I steered clear of those companies. Its not so much the naming and shaming of companies, as maybe wilkinson does do a good job but perhaps certain product lines they do such as toys are not very well stocked etc, but this site is a fantastic place for us to discuss our experiences and resolutions (if any) and best of all its a great place to warn people. If I had not bought a train set from here and had seen the comments posted just today, I would definately not have bought one from wilkinson plus!
I have emailed them the link to this thread, so they can read through it (if they can be bothered! :-D) and take note of what we all think and maybe oneday, they will make changes to their system so that customers are more likely to keep coming back and buying from them!
