I think this is the best offer at the moment, as TalkTalk are offering unlimited free calls to landline numbers (telewest are currently offering this for £24.99 alone) and this includes BT's line rental charge of £11.

As a bonus, they're now offering 8MB broadband comepletely free with upto 40gb downloads as an additional bonus, which comes complete with free connection and modem.

Remember to go through Quidco for £10 cashback once you join as a new customer.

I hope this new great offer is beneficial for anyone looking for a new phone and internet service provider. :)

I've been considering this deal for a while as well but after reading so many bad reviews about the service not sure if it's worth changing.

I think you can,I had cable phone when it first arrived in my area a few years back but was not satisfied and moved back to BT.I am sure there was no charge as the line was still there.I moved to onetel, now talktalk last year and am saving a few pounds a month.

I am now going to virginmedia as they are now on the £85 deal, coz i feel that as a telewest customer for my BB and tv the service has been fantastic.I was reluctant to have my phone with them because of the original experience but know now that they have made huge improvements in customer service these last few years.
I also have noticed on their site that they offer non cable broadband 8mb unltd and anytime calls for £19.99 also, but I'm not too sure if this includes the line rental,i think it may do but a phone call will confirm it either way.

I've been with TalkTalk for a while now- since june 2006 and although it took them 2 months to set up i have had no trouble whatsoever (well no more than BT and that was very little) and i have recommended them to friends who've joined and say they are also very happy so tbh i'm quite puzzled as to why they get so much bad press..... i would recommend them and you should also remember people are much more likely to write a review if there unhappy with the service/product...anyway just thought id let you know they do have some happy customers :) and this is a very good deal oh and no i dont work for them!:giggle:

Been with them for six months and they are fine until you have a problem.

Getting through to Fault Repair service (an 0870 number) is difficult and getting through to someone that is actually professional, polite AND is able to resolve your problem nigh on impossible.

The fault on my line has been unresolved for two weeks and only a recent email direct to Charles Dunstone has got someone to look into it.

It is also worth bearing in mind that TalkTalk often use their own kit in the exchanges and so it is not even possible to get BT on the case to resolve any fault.

Saving dough is great, but my experience is that you get EXACTLY what you pay for.

Yeah.. be careful ... getting through to them is a nightmare , just pray something doesnt go wrong .......!!!!!

Beware, my Sister had a problem with her phone line/broadband and they were "sending" out an engineer everyday for five weeks, no engineer ever turned up, despite her phoning and complaining every day.

She's just went back to BT after 5 weeks of no phone or net access.

I left TT back in April 2006, I STILL get bills for BB and they've even threatened to send in the bailiffs

I phone them every month and get the same old cack, "I'm sorry sir, it won't happen again, I've adjusted your account so you owe nothing and marked it as closed"

the very next month, guess what happens !!!

join TT at your peril... YGWYPF

we moved into a house that had a "marker" on the line left by the previous owner & talk talk point blank refused to get it removed. said that it was down to us to do that. contacted bt who said that their contract was with talk talk & they refused to deal with us saying it was their responsibility, so in the end had to cancel with talk talk & went back to bt who got marker removed within 3 weeks. be aware that talk talk has really bad customer service & call centres are based abroad, so sometimes communication is difficult too, and if your name is michelle be prepared to be called "michael"!!

my parents moved to TT and had a line fault which went unfixed for 7 weeks. Admittedly it wasn't TT's fault but it shouldn't have taken 7 weeks to get resolved.

How do you get the free modem? Site says £29.99

Hmm :(

My girlfriend and I are waiting for our house purchase to go through and had planned to go with Talk Talk when we get moved in.

Think a rethink might be an idea.

The one I used was [email protected]">[email protected]

Sent email just before midnight on Monday. Got an email from one of his team on Tuesday morning stating that they would escalate issue and two further calls during the course of today. Apparently it is a network problem "affecting large numbers of users". The problem, however, remains.

At least you get to speak to someone from the UK!

Enjoy!

My mum uses Talk Talk and although she had a few problems early on all is well now. I think the reason for the problems was the very high demand for this bargain deal

I've been with talktalk for about 2 years now, took a while to get connected but i've never had a problem since.

The 0870 number is free if calling from your talktalk landline but there is an 0800 number that I use just to be on the safe side.

Die Talk Talk, die!!!!!!

I believe it is called from the frying pan into the fire lol. Didn't he do any research? Tell him to google 'complaints' followed by the company names you mention!

I have just joined talktalk and I didn't bother reading any reviews. Im glad I didn't, I might have been put off going with them. I have had no problems whatsoever but I havn't had a bill yet. Someone told me you end up paying unexpected extras. Has anyone else had this problem?

My mum has just (2 months ago) started a BT (18months) phone line contract ater being with NTL.

Is it possible for her to do this TalkTalk deal now or is she tied to BT ?
#25
All ill say is you'll regret anything to do with talktalk!
#26
I just signed to Tiscali 8mb broadband and line rental and all day and evening calls for £19.99 a month
banned#27
The amount of people i've spoken too with TalkTalk problems is scary.

Been with TalkTalk Broadband about two years now..........

Had no problems, and got another talktalk broadband contract after I moved

Very satisfyed with talktalk

However a different story with BT, nothing but grief from those clowns......

I ask ya, after leaving them (due to poor price and service) to get at least a dozen calls...... asking me to "rejoin them".......... Is totally out of order!

If those muppets at BT had got their act together in the first place, they would not have got millions upon millions of customers leaving (like me)

Rant over! :whistling:

if you download a fair bit steer clear, if you just surf then this will be ok. 40gb a month limit is tight.
