Nice one Mike :) Thanks!

I work that out at £485.87 after quidco :)

Without the delivery and VAT it just falls short by £1 for the £25 off £400 (ex-VAT/delivery) so at the least you need to go for the ram upgrade 1024MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512) add £11.75 to bring it over £400 then with the £25 off and the 4.5% off I make it that it should be delivered for £490.
What a bargain eh!

Forgot to check for that - you're quite right!

Quick Question...
What's the graphics card in these?
The gfx is "Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950TM integrated graphics with up to 224MB shared system memory"

If you add this as the number 1 priority for upgrades, 9 Cell, 80Whr Lithium Ion Primary Battery add £23.50 protrudes out the back to spoil the lines but does give so much more battery time.
The delivered price after Quidco cashbacks is £502.12

Although the graphics are intigrated they will play games like Far Cry quite nicely as long as you reduce the eye candy some.
The really nice thing about the 640M is its portability, a 14" widescreen is big enough when you have to carry it around all day. I bought mine to replace a 6400 with 15.4" screen and am very pleased with it.

Latitude D620 on the left with Truelife screened 640M on the right both with Far Cry screened.

Dell are to make Linux an option for the OS on models later on this year ;-)

Skullcam
If you want to use the laptop in bright conditions be wary of getting a Truelife screen. We just got a replacement 6400 machine from Dell with a Truelife screen and it reflects like a mirror. In a darkened room it's very pretty but with light behind you - well it's horrid.
I personally wouldn't agree with that - for me the advantages of glass fronted screens outweigh the disadvantages over standard screens. The image is much sharper and easier on the eye and with laptops you can always tilt the screen so that there's no glare!
[mod]#14
I too agree with repo that the truelife screen gives better viewing but it is very personal and skullcam is right about it being like a mirrror and picks up reflections from lights etc. Overall I think the advantages of truelife outweigh the dissadvantages for me anyway.

New pricing puts this deal up by £34 today and looses the 3yr antivirus but gains a laptop bag. This offer of £528.82 is still live as I type so grab one if you need to before the ecode which is now last months gets pulled by dell.
#16
used the same e code , added the Dual Channel DDR2 and the 9 cell battery extras and total came to £504.08 plus VAT totalling £564.07 , before Quidco .

Having been looking on site for a few weeks now, decided to go for it, ordered it and all done.

Am not sure if it is a really good deal , as don't confess to being anything like an expert, although do value the help and assitance given on HDUK.

Yup, this is an excellent deal from Dell.

I basically ordered exactly the same model from Dell, phoning them direct for the best deal possible, and got this laptop, but with the 15.4" higher-resolution display and 256Mb Radeon graphics, and their total price was £650 inclusive.

I should've waited a week, and negotiated harder !!
#18
Looks like the code is no longer working
[mod]#19
OK hope you took heed of my warning and bought while you were able as Dell have now killed off this deal, its now £562.82 with no Avirus but with a free carry bag.
