If i hadnt already bought a desktop i would have definately considered this.
Great deal.

Great deal MikeT
[mod]#4
I wouldnt think too long if you want this as they may have the cpu wrong, the 2Ghz T7300 Processor is usual in this ecode and the 2.2Ghz T7500 Processor is normally £100+ more to upgrade to.
So you have an upgraded cpu and a price cut so something isnt quite right!
#5
I agree with Mike, this deal will not last long. If you look at the spec, this has to be a misprice. Shame we already have a laptop each in the ashforth household. I think the wife would kill me if I ordered one!
#6
This seems like a really good idea. Unfortunately I recently bought a laptop but this is really tempting.....
#7
Well if i wasnt stupid and gambled on ebay i'd have exactly the right amount of money to buy this :(

last time i go laptop shopping on ebay, retail pricing has come down enough
#8
Whereabouts do I add the Travel Remote Control? Can't see it on the Accessories bit.

Edit: Sorry, blind... seen it. =)

For those members wishing to buy via Quidco, sign into quidco, select dell and click through, look for the "shop by ecode" page and enter ecode 305 into the left box and N1017003 into the right box with no leading or trailing spaces. this should take you to the deal on the Dell Home site.
#10
Cheers. Just ordered mine! :-D

Great deal Mike. Hot Hot Hot

So very tempting. Is there anywhere that lists the raw tech spec - sorry I have looked but couldn't find anything (namely DVI/firewire/external dimensions/what the media remote actually does) cheers!

Oh and also can you bump up the warranty retrospectively? On a laptop of this type I would want a couple more years cover, but really dont have the pennies to cover it right now!
#13
I also wish I didn't recently buy a new pc :(

perfect Mike T.
That more than makes up for the disappointment of this code disappearing last week.

Just ordered mine (at last!! ) through quidco

Thank you very much for all of your help in last few days - much appreciated !

Specs and pics are Here

You can add warranty at any time in the year from dell by clicking the upgrade warranty link on the site, its normally cheaper to do it this way too I have found. They may even ring you to remind you its going to run out soon and make you an offer of cheaper continued warranty.

Haha! That'll teach Dell for not dispatching my 1700 order quickly

I was waiting for you to pop up in the thread mcg, see told you crossing fingers works ;-)

This is the best Dell deal that I've seen in a very long time!
#19
Just ordered one too. Thanks, Mike.

I nearly bought one last week after phoning Dell up and trying my hand at haggling, but didn't go through with it after there was an error in the quote.

How glad I am that I waited. =)
#20
Ordered! Specced it up to my order from a few weeks ago and it came out around £25 cheaper, with the Quidco to take off the cheaper price and I get the faster 2.2ghz processor!

How do I cancel the other order before it gets to the production line??

Glad to see a few of our members taking advantage of Dell ;-)

To cancel email them on the addy they used to send out your order spec but to be sure try a phone call if they dont get back to you by say 3pm tomorrow. Once they get a cancellation email they will probably ring you to see if they can get you to change your mind...not a chance!

just a general Dell question:

do Dell Laptops read / play dvd-Ram?

thanks

Spec says no and both my dell dvdrw drives also say no when presented with a ram disc.
#24
wow that's a nice machine... I'd go for this but I could really do with just a 15" screen. I'll keep watching the deals though, something is bound to pop up in Nov!
#25
Thanks for the fast response Mike.
#26
Wow, that's a great price.

I'm doing exactly the same - Out with the old order and in with the new!

Cheers MikeT :)

Haha, thanks... you're like the Dell guru. I'm guessing it slots into the laptop somehow? Given how small it is, I'd lose it in an instant if it didn't.
#31
It slots into the pcmcia slot doesnt it?
#32
Will this laptop play decent games? Also, is it wifi, and has it got an integrated webcam? Sorry to ask such noob Q's

It's got fast processor, a decent amount of memory and a decent graphics accelerator so it should play most games reasonably well. As for WiFi and webcam - yes to both!

Nearly, it slots into the express card slot when not needed
#38
Can't believe it! I have finally done it and gone and ordered one!!

My budget was £500 but lots of people are rating this and I think it is worth the money??

Please people, tell me I have done a good thing, and that it is worth the money:?
#39
Quality deal, I personally recommend the 4Gb RAM upgrade for £350 and an extra 160Gb HDD space for £235 is a tempter...

:whistling: :giggle:

Nearly 200degrees tells me it's worth the money, tho you may regret not going for the RAM upgrade...
