7 nights, half board with flights, transfers etc for £188pp which i think is pretty good - ideal for a break

A great pool and buffet restaurant makes this place stand out from the crowd. Plus, the beach is just a stroll away.

The Belvedere comes with a big main pool. It scores highly on the food front, too, with a poolside snack bar and an international buffet restaurant. At night, the bar hosts bingo and live shows.

The centre of Salou is just a 10-minute walk down the road – you’ll find a sandy beach, and a host of shops, bars and restaurants. It’s the same time to PortAventura, Spain’s number one theme park.

I quite like Salou. Not been in a few years, but I remember the park being nice. Decent beach, and did the Nou Camp tour.

Went in May, Portaventura cool. Weather great. Salou is very commercialised, pints and gravy. If that's what you enjoy, you'll bloody love it.
#18
Had a week there this summer, rooms were OK, breakfast & dinners were actually fine. Pool isn't that big, but plenty of sunbathing spaces. 10 minutes to beach and same to Portaventura (just don't get the land train back as it goes all the way around the back of Salou and a 10min walk turned into a 40 min journey

GREAT hotel. Lovely staff, amazing food and walking distance to the disappointing Port Aventura.

I know what you mean! Our friends used to warn us to do so before we were limited to school holidays but we never listened

Thomson seem to possibly have a few last minute flight deals.

Dreamliner to Tenerife end of the month was £85 other day. I decided to pay £89 to and from Luton for a week.

Salou is an absolute ghost town in the off season.
#24
Be careful round the main coach/bus stop in the town centre, had a wallet nicked while waiting for a coach a couple of years ago.
#25
I've recently been to salou and will never go back. Purely aimed at teenagers and not a very nice place all together.

20c isn't that hot, has it got colder here over the years?

It really depends which part you go to, when we last went we stayed at the far end on the sea front by the marina and thought it was quite nice. On the transfer bus going back to the airport we passed some real crap hole places though.

Been to Salou once on a family hol and wouldn't go back.
Be careful when you go as well as it's known as something like the "Spanish Devon" where the natives go for staycations and when that happens, you literally can't even get a towel down on the beach from dawn to dusk.

The town itself is quite concrete jungle - esqe.

Port Aventura is good though and worth a visit.

Got back a week ago. We stayed towards the Cambrills side of the promenade which is a good 25 min stroll into main part of Salou. We went last year aswell and tbh nothing had changed. Got pretty boring after a few days, but kids enjoyed it.

Aquapolis water park is decent and cheap if you book online. Beaches do get busy and like someone pointed out it is very spanish until you get to the main part, but arent they entitled to visit their own country!!

You are going to have a great time, the kids have gone back to school. Our group went same time last year and had the theme park to ourselves pretty much. Europes tallest coaster, we were able to walk around & around & around, max queue time was 10mins!

Great deal btw if you can go, and if you're into Theme Parks, Portaventura is one of the best in Europe.

Half board is breakfast usually buffet and a buffet evening meal.
Soft drinks tea and coffee are usually provided at breakfast but you will be expected to pay for all drinks at evening meal including water.
Half board does not include alcoholic drinks nor does Full board which includes mid day meal.

Love salou go every year but everywhere shuts down end of September so be short of choice for shops and bars and places to eat

it's off season. you're in to autumn weather by the time of this flight. fleeces required ib the evenings usually and a fair chance of rain

that's why it's cheap

For anyone going to Salou, if the idea of a comedy magic show appeals then check this place out. The evening show was adults only, not sure if the day one was too:
