Some good deals possible on there.
but dont tend to use them anymore as
they often add charges for tax etc to the final bill.
just checked a hotel in Plymouth,£50 per night
but they then added on £25.54p extra for taxes and fees.

Even booking with the hotel direct, would only cost just
the £50,without any fees!!

Just to let people know, and not in any way moaning to the OP for posting,
before anyone guns me down

Hotels.com are worth checking out when booking hotel rooms though. Firstly they have no cancellation charges on most rooms. Secondly there is usually a 10% off code knocking around which usually cancels out the charges. If not Quidco is usually quite generous.

best prices are for midweek stays which is great if you're a pensioner!

I took an example of a London hotel and got a better rate direct.

The extra charges they levy make their final price too expensive.

Hotels.com are great - got me round the west coast usa ( on a Harley ) with no probs at all - best prices
everytime - 4 nights in a casino in Vegas $13 a night. only booked ahead the day before everywhere.

Sorted !!

No great offers there to be honest. I find Priceline is way cheaper if you know the class of hotel, but don't mind which one you stay in. For example, I will be staying at the 4* Marriott Harbourview hotel in Halifax for 3 nights in May and it was only £50 per night!

Voted cold, I have hotels booked in San Francisco and New York for June, both were cheaper when booked in January than they are now the 'Sale' is on.

I tried booking something last week with hotel.com. I searched rooms for 3 adults and it gave me a price per night that i was happy with. £30 per night per room, so £150 for 5 nights right? Excellent i thought, thats £50 each. Their taxes were £130 added on top. Just went to another website and booked elsewhere. I remember the site being allot better on my previous travels.

I think I solved the mystery.

Hotels.com is good. Especially with Quidco. We got our hotel around £600 cheaper there (was a group of 8) than anywhere else.

Usually hotels.com = Expedia

I wonder if the same deals are available at Expedia or if they are Hcom specific.
