Same here, I bought the lot when we moved in and planned to swap them out one by one when we could afford it, we've only changed the tumble dryer (10 years old) and the dishwasher (8 years old) as the fridge freezer and washer refuse to die!

We have been looking at a new fridge freezer purely because ours isn't frost free and we're fed up with de-icing, looked at this one but it is an odd size... more of a monolith than a FF! It would stick out way beyond our standard 600mm deep units and would block out light due to the height, shame.

Strange, I ordered one just now and it's being delivered Sunday.

Despite my misgivings about the size I ordered anyway as they all seem to be this big now.

I was just trying to be helpful but Currys changed the wording of their offer code on their website yesterday. The original wording in the OP of the link (and below) said "only" ... it now says "together".

"5% off when you buy any free standing fridge and freezers only"

A productive phone call worked for me though!! :D

what did you purchase and what did you say on the phone thanks

I purchased this fridge freezer which was out of stock but I've oredered it for home delivery. They will email me when they get fresh stock at the warehouse in a few days which is fine by me as I've paid at the sale price..

They offered a small token amount for the misunderstanding on the 5% offer but that was before they changed the wording. They agreed it was misleading. I declined as the 2% quidco saving for a completed online purchase was better.

This is a £250 being sold for £250. If you like cheap fridges (same standard as indecit). Hotpoint may have been good 10 years ago but things change. for an extra £100 or so you can buy a £350 fridge freezer for £350 which is alot better. This is a typical 'as seen on tv' or 'endorsed by the tabloids' bumper january sale deal. It's not a scam as such as the product is probably worth £250. But it is not a £450 fridge. You can get a decent Bosch, Samsung or AEG for that and with loads more capacity. Don't be fooled by the previous price which was probably only for a few days. Cold I'm afraid.

I'd love to know what makes a £350 fridge better than a £250 fridge?
This model is big, efficient and (as far as fridge freezers go...) good looking.

When I researched the model before purchasing, I could see it and equivalent specs selling for £350.

Where with loads more capacity for £250? Maybe also your forgetting that people looking around have budgets, £350 is 29% more expensive alot of us who are in the market for a fridge freezer in Jan is normally to replace one which broke over the holiday period and money is normally tight after Christmas.I researched before buying as well and couldn't see anything in this price range with better specs inc del and taking away my broken appliance. Also hard finding one in this colour for the price.

I tried to find this fridge freezer elsewhere at a similar price and failed. It's substanstially more. Apollo 2000 has it for £449 and said they couldnt price match. Appliances online £444.

The identical one but in white at Currys is redcued in the sale but still £399

So in the true spirit of this forum it represents a Hot deal IMHO as you cant buy it at anywhere near this price anywhere else.

Whether cheaper means not so good is debatable..... in much the same way as whether an I-pad/phone is worth paying £300 more than other famous branded models. It's your money and you takes your choice.

I agree with two earlier posters looking for this capacity in this budget and there was nothing else close... (except perhaps a house warming Beko!).
This one fits my budget and has the right freezer capacity for my needs that many others dont have at this price,.

the fridge freezer finally arrived today and think i can safely say the negative comments and cold votes are from people who clearly know nothing about fridge freezers....its huge and doubt i will ever fill it but i'll give it a good go and it came with a mini wine rack which was a lovely surprise...sorry but even a £350 fridge/freezer doesnt come close to the standard/size of this so thank you once again to the OP...this has to be one of the best bargains ive had from this site and ive bagged a few!!! ;)

Smiles thank you..ours is due on Thursday :)
