NEVER EVER buy a hotpoint washer/drier - biggest trash you will ever buy!!!!! I have the WD860G and have had 18 repairs in not even 3 years!

Hotpoint used to be very good but nowadays are pretty poor.
Even people in the trade will admit to that.

Washer driers in general are the least reliable electrical appliance it's possible to buy. If you can find space for a separate drier, do it. If not buy one of the more reliable brands.

+2, we've had our one for about 2 years now, it broke down about 9 times in the first 12 months. I've never experienced a product like it. I've got to know the regular engineer who now comes to repair ours, and he mentioned that the guts of the unit is basically 20 year old technology, just built into a shiny looking case. Save your money folks....

Yeah i always have the same guy come to see me..... When he was here last week he had to replace the drum, the motor, the fluff filter and the rubber band that sits just inside the door..... This is a machine just 3 years old (nearly to the week). It has been a constant thing one after the other. It is unbelievable the things that have been replaced with it!

mine had the central processing unit melted into a compact black ball 2 weeks after the 12 months warranty expired. Had to pay £100 upfront for a hotpoint engineer who never showed up and later claimed I was not at home (I had taken the day off and was home all day). My local plumber looked at it and looks like I was lucky it didn't burn the house down.

Resume: machine dead, 100 quid down the toilet (they refused a refund even though they did not showup) and got a Bosch now.

Avoid Hotpoint like the plague, the products are inferior and the customer service is diabolical.

Wow! £100 for nothing! And I thought I got screwed on the Candy 5 year parts warranty. Motor stopped working, £70 call-out charge to fit the free parts. Ok, I'll fit it myself. In that case you have to pay the cost of the parts - £70. what a coincidence! I own a Siemens now (it came with a 10 year pasts and labour warranty).

Omg! I've had this machine for almost a year now and never had any bother, touch wood. I'm now quaking in my boots. Keep your fingers crossed for me please lol.

I've got the same model as this just without the drier integrated, think its the same model number minus the D.
12 month warranty just ran out about a month ago and it started leaking!
I opened it up though and can see where its coming from, reckon I can fix myself easy enough. I'm no engineer but looking inside I reckon I could take the whole thing apart and rebuild it if I had to, not comlplicated. Must admit everyone warned me about Hotpoints but I reckon there are as many happy customers as there are that have had bad luck.
I know it seems a false economy buying a cheap Hotpoint instead of a Bosch which will last longer but for me spending £600-£700 on a washing machine wasnt very appealing so went for the Hotpoint. Not a parrticularly exciting purchase!
