OK first point sorry but this uses a specific 10% system that is not open to all (ie the DWP one) but I do believe there aer other employers with similar schemes.

Hotpoint 1400rpm washing machine with AAB energy efficiency rating, 7kg wash load capacity and features 30 minute quick wash, up to 24 hour start delay and automatic half load.

I know this is going to get bashed for being a hotpoint - but on the basis that our last one lasted 5 years we've bought one again. This model is only available at Comet but looks OK in that it's in the WMD 'ultima' range like the WMD940 (cept 7kg not 9!) and hence is higher in range terms than others listed as more expensive on Comet site and others.

For the price you need to use LD36 voucher code (valid until 10/2 I think) which brings the price to £296.09

For the next discount I used my work DWP scheme which gets 10% off collect in store, I believe others (ie NHS) have similar scheme for Comet etc
This brings the price to £266.40 ! and quidco are tracking at £8.88 too.

Good price for a machine of this spec (even if it is a Hotpoint).

-if you're accepting the fact that you'll be forking over £260+ every 4 or 5 years on a disposable washer, why wouldn't you invest that money on one that will last? (e.g. Miele or Siemens)

Maybe this was the WMD Tony Blair said he was looking for in the deserts of Iraq???

I will never buy anything at Comet again whatever the price.
