Washine machine broke down a couple of days ago and stumbled across this at comet. The comet price is £219 which has a £50 web price discount plus an £11 voucher code which is easy to find bringing it down to £208.99. I checked around and this is a very good machine for the price and the guy at the store was surprised when i collected it today. They do try and sell extras so be strong they are pretty persitsant. I have placed the discount code as finishing today but could be longer.

Good price but...Hotpoint is now Indesit...don't expect it to last much beyond the 12 months warranty (if it even gets that far)!!!

Oh well works great for now they give a five yea warranty on parts and charge £105 callout (assume their way of getting cost back) most bits are pretty cheap to replace anything expensive and I'll just pay that £105. Well for the money it looks feels and sounds more rugid than indeshet so fingers crossed. Thanks fo the warning...:)

Might be a good price but i wouldnt touch another Hotpoint with a bargpole !!!!!!.
I bought the 960P model (1600spin 8kg load) 6 months ago, was supposed to be super silent, but within a couple of months it sounded like a bag of nails.
Technician came to look at it, ended up replacing the main motor, heater element, drive belt and also reprogrammed the computer on it as it was about 1hr longer on wash cycles than it said!!!. Guess what NO CHANGE, Bloke came back out and then told me he was going to replace the main drum this time, so it was time to kick off about it!!!. This thing cost me just over £320 less than 6 months before. Contacted consumer direct and ended up getting it exchanged for an LG direct drive model 1456, (1400 spin 7kg load). This thing is damn near silent even when on spin. SO GLAD I GOT RID OF THE HOTPOINT FOR AN LG. It did cost a bit more £380, but it is well worth it. 2yr warranty on washer and 10 years on the motor.

i work for a white goods company and a memory that sticks out in my mind was a hotpoint representative telling my boss to order 200 carbon brushes when he ordered the 50 machines as they are manafactured to fail on the carbons within 1 year that is absolutely horrific but as lebreud says their way of getting MORE money from consumers!!!!
