Great find! Was looking for this last weekend, cracking price!
#4
It was £24.99 in my local GAME at the weekend. If it's now £20, I'll be having some o' that.
#5
Can anyone confirm that this game has overcome the weakness of the wiimote, that where you actually point bears no relevance to the target on screen.
#6
Its £20 because its ****!!!
#7
Just wondering how much is Quidco tracking for people because mine works out at only 3%.

I have a 40" Sony Bravia V4000 and I found that I could not calibrate the gun perfectly in Wide or 14:9. The gun calibrates accurately at 4:3. A little bit disappointed by the waisted edges but its still pretty big and I get to shoot Zombies..... I mean Mutants. Defo get the official gun for this game it makes it Awesome! The Overkill Hand Cannon! What a wicked name! Better still get 2! Much more fun with friends! :)

Am I to understand that this game actually has an option to attempt to calibrate the controller to the screen, and not just use Nintendo's pathetic standard implementation. I bought the umbrella chronicles only to be very disappointed by this weakness (no attempt at calibration at all).

Spot on - it has a calibration option that works a treat!

Someone might have said the game is **** earlier in the thread, but it's good fun if not the longest game ever.

funny, just watched a zero punctuation video review of this game http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/600-House-of-the-Dead-Overkill

I can't calibrate the corners exactly, just have to take aim nearby and keep shooting until it registers

great game though
#13
Doh...bought this for £25 at the weekend there! Oh well...great game so far...a little easy but its fun.

It has a crosshair on screen so I just use that. Calibration didn't work too well for me on a 42" plasma.

It might not be a long game but the replay value is awesome, building combos, high scores, getting more money, then buying the REAL BIG DUCKING GUNS!

Love this game.

Definitely the cheapest I have seen so far, but I have to say I was very disappointed with this game. We all enjoy playing Resident Evil 4 and thought that House of the Dead Overkill would be similar.

Alas it is no where near as good, there is no freedom of movement, the game itself controls where you go and you just click away to shoot everything, thats it. We also got the hand cannon at the same time so we could use it with Resident Evil also but it is not compatible.

So yep, good price and if you just want to continuously shoot and do nothing else then good game. If you prefer more freedom then I suggest Resident Evil 4 and also Dead Rising Chop Til You Drop.

Comparing Resident Evil 4 with HOTD: Overkill is like comparing Mario Kart with Gran Turismo. They're different genres completely.

If you were under the impression that Resi 4 was similar to Overkill, might I suggest you use metacritic.com to review future purchases. This site gives an average review score of most game releases as well as links to the reviews themselves. There's no point criticising a game because you had no idea what it was about but had decided what you wanted it to be regardless. That's like me criticising Sex and the City because it's not a hardcore porno.

I`ve never had that problem!! Maybe it depends on your set up??

Quite tempted by this but I`m not paying any more that £17.99 for any game any more.

Wow you sound a bit of a div!!! House of the Dead has ALWAYS been an on rails light gun game. Resident Evil 4 isn't so why are you trying to compare them???

People, ignore this guys comment as he doesn't really know what he is on about. Its a great game by the way with a friend, but not as good as Resident Evil 5 :)

What's Resi 5 like? I'm a bit put off by the 7/10 it's getting from Edge and Gamecentral (the 2 reviewers I trust the most). I know, I know, a 7/10 ain't bad :whistling:

It is a great game in co-op, but it isn't a Resident Evil game. Basically if you go into it thinking that although it has the Resident Evil name it isn't a Resident Evil game then you'll enjoy it. There is no suspense or fear playing this at all. I'm playing it on Normal with a friend and its a bit easy so I'm hoping that the hardest difficulty provides a better challenge. The graphics as I'm sure you've noticed are great and the bosses are epic too.

All in all a great game, just not a great 'Resident Evil' game.

Not sure why this has gone expired? Just checked game Website and it's still £20...

Thanks for that. Dare say I'll get it when my brother gets his ps3 for some sibling online co-op arguing, lol.

Especially with it's 18 cert and questionable content in the script?

Not a bad thing for a sicko like me tho, lol.
