This is currently £41.99 on their website as they have £2 off all games at the moment - to get the price in the title use the link to the £1 off voucher that was recently put on here that i've put a link to.

This game is due to be released next week and is getting rave previews from IGN and all the major magazines etc at the moment so could be worth getting.
This pack is for not only the collectors edition which is £31.99 at the cheapest place i've seen but as its a bang bang box set contains 2 sega made hand cannons which if you search on google have also been getting rave previews as they are supposed to be much better than nintendos own gun shell which came with links crossbow training. The cheapest i've seen these hand cannons are £12.01 a piece so you end up saving a fair bit for some superior shells. Forgot to mention that you can get 4% quidco or topcashback on this as well

Heres the official blurb

Bang Bang Box Set Includes - House of the Dead Collectors Edition Game Includes Collectors Sleeve and exclusive Prelude to an Overkill Graphic Novel starring Valla Guns! - 2 x HOTD commissioned AMS Hand Cannons. These are a replica of the hand cannons used by Agent G in the game. The hand cannons will also allow firing from the trigger with a new advanced mechanism that allows the player to shoot as they would in real life.

Oh lawrd, people are still repping wii stuff. This should be as cold as yesterday.
It is a good offer for wii owners though.

hahaha maybe I should edit the description to omit it and it might raise the temp!

Just wondering will this work on the UK version of the Wii

What are all the negative Wii comments about?

Is there something I don't know?

Just fanboyism i think - I happen to prefer the Wii to all of the major consoles but its all about personal taste I guess

This set is too cool. Say what you like about the Wii, but I don't see Xbox releasing hand cannon peripherals..

This set is actually an Australian exclusive so thanks for finding a source in the UK (and for a fantastic price). You can buy the guns separately on Amazon, but they cost £12 each! so this is definitely a great package.

@9 - Australian software is PAL, which is the same as Europe so it will work fine.

Pre-ordered.

Just thought, will these be liable to be stong for a customs fee? its hong-kong based isnt it and never ordered anything above £15 from cdwow?
#13
What games are included? is it a box set of all the HOTD??

i've bought a 360 controller from them before for £29.99 and didn't pay anything extra than what was quoted at the time of buying so should be ok

Yup, but then again you get to play games without expensive add-ons. Nunchuks, Classic Controllers, Link's crossbow, HOTD guns, Mario Kart wheels, now more slightly different HOTD guns - £179 for the console (which has never dropped from the release price) another £100 on plastic bits to hold controllers and £20 for an official bag to put them all in...

Rant over... where do I sign up? :p

I did think about that, but surely goods are dispatched from Jersey? like Play.com and others, which is fast enough. Plus they couldn't afford to offer free delivery on goods if they were based far away. I have made an inquiry. Also it is worth noting vouchers cannot be used on this item as it is considered a sale item by CD WOW...

No one has a... hand cannon (baaaaaaaaaaahahaha) to your head forcing you to buy their plastic ****. It's only £100 if you want that **** (which I don't - hand cannons are the only exception)

OK Cheers. The gun are backwards compatible / compatible with other shooters like Ghost Squad etc? Mentions an "all new" firing mechanism, thats all
#20
At first I thought these were actual gun shaped controllers but I now see it's just a different shaped controller holder :-(

couldn't say 100% as its not been released yet - i presume it would work with all other games as it fits in the same way as the official Nintendo gun holder and the 2 seperate 3rd party models I have - I guess it just depends which button the game in question uses to fire (A or B button) ut from the pictures it looks like it will be triggering the B button - hope that helps a bit - maybe google might give a definative answer - (i've tried to look for you but couldn't find it mentioned but i just did a quick skim)

I believe customs limits went up in December to around £100... could be wrong though but I know that was planned in september of last year for December. I was mad as the £ really crashed which made it useless.

I agree

Id rather pay the extra few quid for an add on that was designed for the game and not just plastic that the controller fits into i think the wii accuracy with the wii motes is hit and miss no pun intended my wii doesnt seem to like me sitting any further than 1.5/2m away from the sensor where as my friends works fine further i have tried on top of tv under it and set it up in the menus for above and below screen where as i remember the good old light guns of the ps1 either a namco one or the cheapy you got with die hard worked a million times better no matter how far you were from the screen

I find the distance from the sensor is very much dependent on the batteries in the wiimote. Mine is currently sat at 3 metres away using a projector screen, and its fine until the batteries start to go.

I just find it frustrating that if you look down the sight of a wii gun the target is very rarely in the right place. And I can't find anywhere where you can configure the accuracy of the pointer.

Having said that, I really enjoy this game, even if it is soooo much harder than the arcade game its based on. It is good fun, but I won't be buying it again just for a couple of 'cannons'.
#32
Accuracy of the pointer is usually configured in-game for those style games that need it :)

It worked a million times better because it was completely different technology, unfortunately with today's TVs you can't use lightguns anymore, the Wii remote offers a decent enough solution to this, granted it's not perfect but it works well enough for me.
#34
This is a hot deal as limted edition, good price and to buy the 'wiimote holders' and game would be expensive if done seperately, and hard to obtain.

Hence is a hot deal.

The fact I think the Wii IMHO is the biggest rip off and Nintendo have managed to :

1: Put gaming back 5 years with regards to old stereotypes 'computetr games being re-confirmed by older generations.

2: released an updated front end Gamecube with a control system which doesnt do as advertised.................if it did we wouldnt need the motion plus add on would we now?!!!

3: Will soon be selling us old gamecube games (Pikmin) slightly modified to use the wiimote as new full priced games.

This isnt a rant baout new technology requiring high end graphics or spec, but about a company selling at limited supply to keep demand high, old technology with a control system that simply doesnt work that well at a premium price point, to a new market (parents and women) which knows no better.

i thought the wii was dodgy too until i realised

1) adjust the sensitivity in main wii settings so the pointer doesnt jitter (i find 3 works very well, one was terrible)
2) move any lights around/behind the TV away so the remote doesn't latch onto them sometimes
3) any game that uses a lot of gun type pointing should have a an adjustment for distance from TV. this is again always wrongly labelled?, in Links Crossbow Training its called Pointer Speed (what? i thought it was some time of stabilisation or lag for the first few plays). No - theres no way for the wii to know how big your TV is compared to the sensor bar, so this what this setting actually does for a given distance from screen.
basically, i've got it very accurate (as long as you then stay at that distance from the TV! its unfortunate it doesnt automatically do the math on this by being given the TV size or something)

just to compensate for above,
I am extremely happy with the wii its brought the fun back to gaming that i remember from when i was little.

although that has nothing to do with this thread.

anyone got a proper UK stock for this package?
#36
Boo hoo. My 360/PS3 hasn't got this game, but I will cover the disappointment about the relative success of the Wii by using the 'but my console has got the bestest grafix!' argument.

It's so boring. Nobody is being hoodwinked. People like the Wii because it's fun.

Don't take your ball in because the other boys won't play to your rules.

I'm a Wii60 guy by the way.

Hot! Can't wait for this.
#37
nice, ordered for me a my GF to play. She sometimes gets the urge to shoot things so this will cure her ache!

ooo £41.00 for £5.00s worth o game and some plastic controller cases, thanks Sega !

The Wii must be really bad to have sold so many consoles! I love the theories about 'deliberately limiting supply' to artificially inflate the price of the Wii. Nonsense.

Logic says price is determined by supply and demand. Demand is as high as ever ... why reduce the price? It makes no business sense. Business being the key word ... Nintendo are not the civil service - they are a firm out to increase shareholder wealth!

Limiting supply? What? Nintendo are practically at full production and because the 360 and PS3 are not direct substitutes (acknowledged by both Sony and MS), then customers who want one will wait. Why build a new factory to make a few extra Wii's to satisfy temporary fluctuations in demand? That too is business logic.

The facts cannot be denied. The Wii has sold more than the other systems (almost more than both combined), regardless of how good or bad the games might be compared to the other systems.

Do you see many Wii owners actually say the 360/PS3 is rubbish? No, they usually say that they are not hardcore gamers and like to pick things up and put them down at ease (casual gaming). The only slating is from those few extremist 360/PS3 owners that appear bitter about the Wii for some reason. Beyond me!

Nobody is forcing you to buy this game; I see no logic or common sense to jump into a Wii/PS3/360 game thread and shout about how rubbish the host system is. Anyone who does, needs to grow out of the inferiority complex really.

When they release day of the tentacle on it I might turn mine on again. The wii is rubbish for lazy people like me.
