HISTORY reveals the 4.5 billion-year journey of our home...

From a seething ocean of radioactive, molten rock to a refuge for life as we know it, Earth has undergone a staggering series of cataclysmic transformations in its long and epic history. Assailed relentlessly for millions of years by meteorites, our once toxic and hostile planet has been covered in water and in ice, and seen the rise and sundering of continents, the creation of an atmosphere, and, ultimately, the beginning of life.

How The Earth Was Made plots the twisting course of Earth's amazing journey. Using groundbreaking special effects and travelling to remote locations where our planet still bears the scars of its violent history, this compelling documentary tells a story of unimaginable timescales, world-shattering forces, radical climates, and mass extinctions.
HISTORY journeys back in time to show the creation of Earth's land masses, the birth of the first complex creatures, and
devastating extinctions - before speculating on the future when all life becomes extinct.

This is what a review has said.

How The Earth Was Made is available in several versions, and to me this is the best. This is a relatively short film version that just details the chronological, geological history of the planet. It's the best I have seen by far, and really is extremely good. Well worth adding to your collection if you want to know understand the changes the earth went through, without endless waffle. Its really a great film.

So yes, it's a cut down version with the padding removed by the sounds.

Oh honey pie, I have a hard enough time trying to understand the changes I'm going through without trying to understand the changes the earth went through.

Plus I'm not liking the false advertising going on here - The film should be call 'How we think the Earth was made'

Cosmos for Rednecks

Just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean no one else can understand it. If you mean think as in a logical theory based lots of observable data, then yeah that's how we think the earth was made. Same way we think the Earth orbits the sun.

If only we had a story book, written by uneducated camel jockeys 2 thousand years ago, then we'd know for sure.

Thought your comment about camel jockeys sounded a touch racist, so I looked it up and every ref to camel jockeys I can find is indeed racist. Perhaps you should save your comments for deals relating to Top Gear.

Well "camel jockey" is a real thing (people who race on camels, naturally), but in this context I'd say it was derogatory towards a tribal people that lived 2,000 years ago (the "uneducated" bit notwithstanding). I'm sure DigitalReaper didn't mean it to refer to any currently-existing race which would - of course - make it racist, as there are no nationalities I'm aware of where everyone partakes in camel racing.

It was a poke at the holy book, referring to the fact Camels weren't domesticated for about 1000 years after the bible was written, yet there's various mentions about Camel Jockeys (people that ride camels). The 'uneducated' part is also true, by todays standards we would consider everyone uneducated around the time of the bible's creation. So to say the bible was written by Camel Jockeys is to say the date on the back cover is fictitious by over 1000 years.

Maybe they were riding high horses not camels?

Maybe people who've never posted a deal shouldn't instruct others on what deals they can and can't post, particularly when suggesting people with an interest in cars must be racist.
