Just get very very very lucky! It's a bit like winning the lottery to get a £1 room.

Stayed here when I went to NME Awards last year, and all the bands stayed there aswell. Was a cool hotel, but location is a bit dodgy to say the least. - While I was there, outside the hotel there was a fight, and also in a seperate incident somebody got hit and runned...shame because the hotel was ace.

What time on the 29th does the sale start?

i also managed to get one of these rooms for £1, its a bit of a mad rush for the rooms but i found having around 3 or 4 windows open and keep refreshing the page will increase your chances of getting a room ( worked for me ) but i have two screens on my pcs so this made it a little easier but be warned the site often crashes but just keep refreshing the page/pages and you might get through....good luck
p.s. i will not be going to try for a room this time as i got one in the past so i hope this will give someone else a slightly better chance of getting a room....oh and by the way, its a great hotel

This whole thing is rubbish publicity stunt. They have very limited pound 1 rooms. Last time their server stopped working at 12.00 and by 12.05 when it was refreshing all the rooms were gone.......better not to waste your time and book with Travelodge when they start their 9 pounds sale again.
#17
Voted cold. Chance of getting a £1 room is only 500 in however many people are after one, plus you can only get one night at that rate.

Not this again.....hope i remember on the day lol

This is a fantastic hotel, and maybe I'm just lucky, but I've generally found it possible to get a room. Out of the last 4 or 5 attempts, I've only failed once. However, it is not easy. Simply logging on at around midday and trying once or twice is unlikely to work!

There used to be a link to a faster booking page, but this wasn't available during the last sale, so everyone stood an equal chance. The site had major problems last time and the rooms didn't become available until about 12.15pm or 12.20pm.

OK, it IS a publicity stunt, but it's fun and has worked well for me, so good luck to the Hoxton, and good luck to everyone trying for a room next week...

No, 1 night only.

As for tips - persistance pays off. As a previous poster said, the rooms didn't become available until around 12.20pm, 20 minutes after the sale started.

And pre-register on the site beforehand if possible too.

Oh yeah, and of course the most important one is to tap your head hard 3 times before the sale starts as a good luck charm.

I got lucky TWICE using this method! Gutted when they took it away last time, but hey, cant be too greedy! :whistling:

No, not really. Travelodge are really **** hotels but this one is quite nice, so defo worth havin a go.

Also - come on, of course it's a publicity stunt that's blatantly obvious - they're not gonna make any money doing all their rooms at 1 pound a go :p

I wouldn't say the area is very dodgy, it's in the centre of east london, where all the art students and the like hang out, the area has some of the trendiest people in the country
#25

anyone able to get into the £29 rooms?

Nope, seems like a big con to me......voted cold.
#37
im still confused, were people clicking on the normal rates part of the home page to load up the discounted rates?

or did something load which didn't on mine?

can anyone put my mind at rest here?
#38
Got one!! But the worst possible thing has just happened, I got TWO email confirmations, with different confirmation numbers... I'm going to phone them and plead with them not to cancel them both, I know what their policy is on people booking more than one room. I DEFINITELY only put my details in once, so I can't imagine how it's double booked me...
#39
After the countdown, there was two links that appeared on the home page - one for £1 rooms and one for £29 rooms. You clicked on those, and then it loaded up a calendar to select your dates.

You didn't need to go to the normal rates section.
#40
You need to go onto the hotel's main page and on the right there is a choice between £1 and £29 rooms. So since £1 are all sold out, only choice is to try your luck with £29 rooms. And yes the £29 works.
