This Hozelock crap doesn't last - better off spending more money on something that won't need to be replaced

I bought the nozzle piece from Wilkos last week for 75p. Not Hozelok but works perfectly well. They had the full kits (contains the same parts as your image), again - not Hozelock - for a quid. I've had the multi-function attachment from Hozelock in the past (was around £12) and it lasted about a month.

None will ever last long.... they're plastic and because we always toss them on the ground instead of putting them
down nice and gently ;)

Personally, I would go for metal/brass, or if plastic - anything but Hozelock.
I don't have time to check deals for you, but 2 second online search and there's a brass set from Screwfix http://www.screwfix.com/p/brass-hose-fitting-set-4-pieces-4-pcs/13866?kpid=13866&gclid=CNzxw4vX9NMCFbcV0wodBtIFwg&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=COai7ovX9NMCFbYg0wodibgA9w

It depends, these metal fittings will rust at the bearings and screws within a season for a lot of people where the tap is exposed.

My personal experience with Hozelock is good - the reel I bought included all the items in this set and I've not had any issues with them in the ~3 years I've owned them (stored outside too). Threads like this will always be skewed by (a) people being naturally more inclined to comment on negative experiences than positive ones; and (b) Hozelock being the biggest name in this particular market.

Here's the started kit I saw for a quid:

EDIT: sorry, looks like HUKD breaks the link. Copy and paste should do it.

OK thanks. You recommend metal/brass basically instead.
My experience with Hozelock is fine. All the plastic equivalents I've tried have been naff and broken very quickly if even working out of the box without leaking.
