It seems Amazon are having a bit of a Summer stock clear out, and i've just ordered this hose attachment, reduced from RRP of £36.28. Much better than the plastic ones - I know as I recently stood on mine and snapped the connector.

Product Features (from Amazon page)...

* Ultra tough zinc alloy body
* Comfortable soft touch ergonomics
* Comes with a range of genuinely useful, class leading spray patterns
* Locking trigger
* Variable flow from the rear flow control

Manufacturer Description...
Ultra 14 spray gun combines fantastic looks, comfortable soft touch ergonomics with a range of genuinely useful, class-leading spray patterns. Features patented infinitely variable trigger flow control--the harder you squeeze the more water you get--and a two-stage locking trigger: lock at 100% flow and 40% flow. Comes with six spray patterns: Powerful Jet for cleaning, Fast Fill for filling up buckets and watering cans, Fine Mist for seedlings, High Definition Nickel Overplated Brass Rose for gentle watering, Fan Spray for rinsing soap off cars, and Cone Spray for delicate watering.

Thanks - this is a good product, though my current one now needs replacing; it lasted twice as long as the crappy plastic ones that cost £10 or more.
Ordered.

@MajorCockUp - mine's for sale :-)

These are usually £9 anyway, £40 my ****. I have bought several over the last couple of years. It's only partly metal, but better than the cheaper ones.

You can get them from eBay for a similar price and there are other outlets offering near-same pricing. Having said that, you know where you are with Amazon and it's quick to checkout if you are an existing customer.
The only slight issue you will find with the metal jobbies is that you get oxidisation occurring and this can cause the plunger to stick. The rubbers are common with the plastic ones as well and so it won't last forever.
£8.88 is enough to pay and should give you a couple of years of use.
Heat added.

I've just ordered one. Will put it to one side until my plastic fitting one gives up the ghost.

Now a tenner £10 + £1.18 postage, a real bargin as i have been wanting one of these for ages. really good quality, and they are around £30 to £35 quid in most shops the plastic ones leavers snap easy and plastic surround break but the metals one are well goo Just not worth paying £35 quid for......

Dam, I ordered one using the 'one click' option and Amazon has charged me £5.89 for P & P. It won't let me change to the free 'Super Saver delivery' option because the item is in the process of being dispatched and cannot be altered.

I notice that it is now only available at the price of £6.07 plus £4.50 P & P.

You're dead right about the metal corrosion - made of cast zinc alloy - Rubbish! went back to a £2.99 plastic one! Absolutely a baggashite!

Great price but ours only lasted a year. The handle hinge is made of plastic and snapped off. I don't see the point in making a good solid casing if there is a weak point elsewhere. I bought another plastic one as our last one lasted a year too. Really not very impressed with Hozelock. I might try B&Q's alll metal one next.

Had exactly the same issue only lasted a year, very dissapointed. Went back to the cheapo plastic hozelock one that I had originally replaced after a number of years.
