Scsi Has A Number Of Interfaces, Sas Being One Of Them. Google It And You Will See That You Do Need A Card. These Drives Would Make A Kick Ass Game Rig Though!

So how does this compare to a sata RAPTOR?

Yep you need a seperate card. They normally cost £300 plus for a SAS card. You will also need to buy the cables as well. Also these are designed for HP servers/Enclosures so you would have to remove the drive from the caddy and possibly invalidate the warrenty to put into another machine

You can get a card on ebay for around £50 to £80 if you look. Technically these drives should be 50% quicker than the 10k raptors as they are designed for business use in servers etc.

These are for an HPDL380 G5 server.

They walk all over it!

This is a hot deal. Most people on the forum are looking for home units though not server. So dont expect to be too hot! Still its a really good price. (typical selling price for these units is around 250-300)
