Wow, that is some price for a colour laser from one of the leading brands. I bought this a month ago at what I thought was a bargain price of £150. Imagine how sick I feel!

And I just nearly paid £129..99 at PC-W**k for one. This is a stunning price for a colour laser... pity about the price of HP consumable though!

Good deal. Voted hot.

Nice price, but at £155 for a full 4 cart replacement I fear it would be out of my overall price range :(

I have an epson, 4 new cartridges was £480 but I got 4 refilled cartridges for £98. they have lasted 1 1/2 years and are still just over half full, the printer is used most days

Sounds like a fab price - annoyingly it only ships with 'introductory' cartridges that last for a 1000 pages or so. It's a bit like a 6meg digital camera shipping with a 32mb SD card!

Dissapointing review though, so I won't be buying one I'm afraid. http://reviews.cnet.com/laser-printers/hp-color-laserjet-1600/4864-3159_7-31766651.html?ctype=msgid&messageSiteID=7&messageID=2349451&cval=2349451&tag=uolst

most printers including inkjets usually come with low capacity cartridges.

Yep - annoying isn't the word!

Printer manufacturers dont make profit on the hardware, hence very cheap good value for money printers now, so they scr*w us on the consumables, thats life!

Didnt take long for them to appear on ebay £112 + vat (£131.60) + delivery @£17

I've just noticed that!

Been looking for re-fill kits for the printer. The one's from the US look to be quite good?

I'd go for remanufactured carts rather than refills.

Refills generally (and I really do mean generally) tend to drill a hole in the cartridge and simply pour more toner in.

Remans usually strip the cartridge down, clean it, replace any parts that need replacing and then rebuild it. Usually "decent" remans are as good quality wise as originals, but like everything in live, there are good and bad.

I buy re-manufactured cartridges for my epson laser, testing pages of printouts against originals...... no difference, except hundreds of quid cheaper:thumbsup:

By the look of it they are a "proper" retailer as opposed to a "forum lurker / ebayer" :p
