Can people please put why you are voting cold/hot so that someone like me can understand what is wrong with it!

Thanks.

Big saving on the normal price - voted hot

[o/p neglected to mention this would qualify for free carriage of course :)]

It's quite a feeble netbook.

Small screen,
lower tier processor (The Intel Atom and Via Nano are the standards now),
runs vista rather than XP (most people wouldn't want to go through the arduous process of downgrading)

And really quite an old model by now.

Excellent keyboard layout though apparently. Not a great price though I should imagine.

Lower spec processor than most these days, smaller screen & Vista is a resource hungry beest.

they were selling the linux version however about a week ago there was a deal posted on here for RM (Research Machines) for £200 (vista version) now sold out.

Great machines, great screen, keyboard and sound. Really built to last and they look fantastic. Processor not up to running Vista though (however HP should supply the downgrade disks for XP)

Noisy fan apparently

I have one and the fan is not noticeably noisier than others. In fact one of the reviews on YouTube thought the Acer has a much noisier fan...

It does not have a "small" screen as a couple of posters have alluded to - the screen is 8.9" which is similar to a number of other netbooks such as Acer Aspire One. Also the screen resolution is 1280x800 which is much better than the 1024x600 typical resolution of 8.9" netbooks.

I have one, installed XP on it (with 1.5GB ram) and it plays multimedia files (DVDs etc) fine. It's not a powerhouse but not exactly a stuttering slug either as some people make out!

Thanks for the feedback, it is always good to hear from someone with actual knowledge of the item. I had noted the higher screen resolution - a definite plus. Processor is not the most powerful but it is a netbook and processor power is not the main issue. Battery stamina is high on my list of priorities. Do you know if a larger battery is available for the 2133?

Well I am going to have to vote cold on my own deal. As of today, HP have announced a new netbook which will better this one on specification and price :- See article at PCAdvisor http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=116429
