So you've been looking for an ultra-portable laptop to browse the web and do some word processing. You could get an Eee PC or an Acer Aspire One. Get one of these instead.
Why it is better:
Build quality and style (read some reviews of it if you think I am exagerating). Brushed aluminium case is hardwearing and stylish and the build quality dumps all over the competition.
Screen. 1280*768 minimises scrolling. No good if you wear reading glasses oh and it's shiny which I know some people hate.
Keyboard. The best of any of the group - almost full size and good to type on.

The downside is you get a via c7-1.2Ghz processor which is significantly slower than the atom chip in the other two - even clock for clock. It will handle web browsing, word processing even playing back 720p video if you use the right player that utilises the chips hardware acceleration. Anything that requires serious grunt is not going to work however but you don't buy a netbook for stuff that requires serious grunt.
Ram is easily upgradable to 2GB and XP works very well on it - this comes with Linux preinstalled.

Massive 0.1% quidco available.

I'll put some relavent link in the follow up message to this.

£200.98 at Dabs plus 4% quidco (2% on laptops...is this a laptop....lol?)....just in case you don't fancy buying from Ebuyer....theres a better model out there now with 1.6 processor and I believe a bigger HD....possibly why these are being sold off cheap....hot (apart from the Ebuyer bit...personal opinion)

QFT.

Advent 4211 was the same but that's since been dethroned.

I had a play with some netbooks in Currys the other week. I thought this HP was great build quality (as per the reviews) but the keyboard seemed quite cheap feeling (compared to the Samsung!).

Just my opinion.

Still can't believe the various Netbook companys, accepted from their designers, that 2/3 hrs battery life was the way to go. Not asking much 512MB/8GB/5hrs + Batt ~ £200

Not bad for £200, but didn't i see on ukhd the eee901 for £250?
Best netbook out at the moment is the NC10 ;)

I'm a bit confused - I can't find eBuyer on Quidco...

The screen resolution is very nice shame the cpu is not fast enough to play hd video files.

No netbook will play Full HD video files.

I could live with the slower processor on this, and I could probably just about live with the noisy fan but I'd find the glossy screen completely unacceptable. The only reason to buy a laptop this small is because it's very portable and having a screen that's unusable in many lighting conditions defeats the purpose.

The poster said it will play 720P, that should be good enough unless you are going to be hooking it up to a 50 inch display.

And even if there was such a netbook, you can't buy it anywhere....
So the best netbook out at the moment is the NC10  :w00t:
