Presumably a faster CPU than. http://www.ebuyer.com/767251-hp-255-g5-amd-laptop-z3a60es-z3a60es-abu
How much faster? (Noticeable in real world?)

I bought a similar laptop from another supplier and the fan was so noisy I sent it back. With a SSD this should be quieter than an HDD laptop, not more noisy.

The i3 is about 10% faster but in most cases you won't notice too much.

With HP laptops, they all come with the fan engaged, you need to change the setting in the bios to turn it off

Why do HP laptops do that? My Acer laptop runs nearly silently.

no one really knows as HP don't admit they do, best conjecture seems to be a warranty thing in that they feel the processor will last longer as the fan is constantly on....

Oh. Seems to go against the principle of modern processors being energy efficient, cool and not needing the fan so much as in the past.

So has anyone bought this laptop and if so can you hear the fan?

That is still true, you also have to remember that even if it still needs the same amount of fan power as in the past, it's still more powerful which is an improvement nonetheless.

mine laptop bleed the screen in 3 month. HP/Ebuyer denied any replacement. Bad quality

£340 now @Ebuyer; if you want a fast, basic, laptop this is good value, even without CD/DVD drive and FHD screen.
