For the non dvd at £319 its a bargain especially as its 1080p, note that its a last gen core i3 5005u.

For reference it benchmarks as follows:
i3 5005u: 2912
Core m3 6y30 (Surface pro 4): 3056
i3 6100u: 3893
i5 6200u: 3931

May want to edit the deal to the non dvd version to get more heat

Is this one better for the extra money, with the 8gb and i5 6200 ?

Plus can anyone confirm screen resolution?

Same laptop and model number, has a 1366x768 display, pretty bad TN panel but it's £369 at eBuyer (was £350 last week),
Depends if you can live with the display.

Personally I would get the Yoga 510 from pc world for £349, same performance as the core i5, and you get a glass covered full hd IPS display unfortunately you only get 128gb ssd but is upgradeable

DVD/rw version 256 SSD

Just phoned laptops direct to order the DVD/RW version. When I enquired how to claim the £60 cash back he checked and said that the £60 cash back offer from HP had expired
#22
I spoke to them too, he didn't tell me that. They better sort it out as they are still advertising it on the page!!

Got one!!
#25
Can you post it here?

#27
If you go on HP promotions page it says "there are no current promotions" but as you say Laptops Direct are still advertising it as £60 cash back

Should have asked if he'd do a deal for you. I've removed the text from the original post.

The CPU in yours is quite a bit more powerful than this, i would hold out for a better deal
#31
Anyone know if it's easy to upgrade the ram on this?

I have just read Trust Pilot reviews for Laptopsdirect and they are appalling. Nearly 30% of their customers have had serious issues with them. I am glad I saw them as I was going to buy this deal.

I must say my first impression of them isn't great either. I think the guy in their sales team hung up on me because I wanted to order via the website instead of through him - i was just letting him know that their desktop website doesn't show the promo code field in the basket which makes a deal like the one highlighted above pretty difficult to get!

he clearly wasn't interested in helping, just wanted a sale.

i tried everything in multiple browsers and it would not appear. I ended up going via my iphone6 chrome browser and the promo code field showed up ! odd.

Hi, I'm looking for a good laptop for my brother. My budget is around £300. Can anyone recommend a good one. Also want it to be a good speed not slow. And something that's worth more but is on sale. Thank u.

Hmmm I'm sure someone is supposed to come along by now to point out this 'u' version of the i3 is slower than a desktop i3 from 4 years ago blah blah blah and HP is less reliable than a damp lettuce inside a Faberge egg*......at least those damned 768x1366 moaners can stick this deal in their respective pipes and smoke it. Hot from me.

*Faberge Eggs with damp lettuce is not recommended for computing use.
:D
