i think the toshiba is better. 2.1 versus 1.8Ghz CPU, better graphics, bigger hard drive and more ram so in my opinion the tosh is better value for money. what grabs my attenion on the toshiba is this
3GB RAM (Expandable to 8GB)

If you can afford £70 more, this is a better machine:

NM price went up over night!

I've recently bought a couple of these for work colleagues.
Performance wise it's not too bad, but the keyboard and mouse take some very 'firm' keystrokes and clicks to use... gets very annoying when you're typing and half the letters aren't there!

Much prefer the Acers, we have many more of those - there's a deal at Misco at the moment too for an Acer Travelmate 5330, very good machine, only £344.99 and it's eligible for the free Windows 7 upgrade
#6
Only problem with the Acer is the Celeron budget processor.

No, it tops out at 4GB. If you're going to install Win 7 64 bit, or Linux though, it's attractive. Intel CPU machine tend to have better battery life though.

mmm, maybe. But definitely out-performed the HP when I was configuring and using them side by side...

#10
will this be eligible for windows 7 upgrade?
