Why cold? this is a decent entry level spec, no? with Win 7 Pro and the usual wants for this level. HP are decent too. Solidly built too.

Really - I need to know why please, as I recently recommended this to a friend.

This seems like a good laptop, given the make. I'm wondering why all the cold votes though? I know a similar spec Dell can be had for cheaper, but this is a HP, which is much better quality.

the processor is ridiculously out of date for this price

Maybe I've just have had bad luck with HPs but I've had a desktop and a laptop (cost me £999 a few years back) and both them ran into problems within the year. I've never had problems with dell laptops and their next business day warranty is amazing (I had a new AC adaptor delivered to my door under 12 hours).
