possible find out how the 2gb ram is installed. most laptop manufacturers where laptops have 2 sodimm slots would install 2 x 1gb ram. therefore if this laptop has 2 x 1gb ram (cheaper than just 1 2gb stick) installed and a further 1gb chip is provided, it is pointless. I am sure it wont be the case as many would complain, but if someone could confirm, would be great

I'd go for this tbh; much better spec.

Even if there's 2x slots and ones populated with a 2gb stick and you put the 1gb stick in the empty slot you still wont get dual channel memory. Personally I would just pick myself a 2gb stick of Crucial up from Play for around £14, that would make it a decent machine and really today with windows7 you want 4gb of memory as a minimum and with the price of it it makes much more sense to have enough memory to save having a page file being accessed all the time and slowing your machine down.

This looks a great deal @ £350, after £100 cashback from HP --- http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/HP_620_Notebook_PC_954420.html

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T6570 Processor, 15.6" HD Screen, Windows 7 Professional Edition, 3GB RAM, 320GB

Only seems one BIG problem --- it's not listed on the HP cashback site http://www.hpcashback.com/uk/laptops/

I wonder what happens after you pay Saveonlaptops £450, then get refused the £100 cashback they stated as part of the sale blurb, because HP say it doesn't apply to that model?

HP machines are rubbish full stop. Bad experiences with 3 HP laptops in the past myself and I have worked with HP consultants for 2 years and they are forever complaining about how poor their machines are

Long time lurker, small time poster here.

Steer clear of these, very poorly designed keyboard that will infuriate you everytime you use it. We had a batch of these at work and every single person complained about them.
