Great little laptop for student or basic use. Clearly no use if you are a serious hardcore gamer but for the average joe to get on the internet and perform basic computing (word processing, spreadsheets, e-mai etc) this is fine.

Gotta love how some members make things cold without any feedback.

1.Great thing for some - Windows XP Pro
2.Decent, cheap laptop
3....Dabs...not so good recently
#3
listed even cheaper at ebuyer but unfortunately no stock

Probably the same whingers who keep complaining about Dabs when Ive had no problems with them- you can say the same of Amazon who have no telephone contact and Ive had more problem with them hiding behind their website and what about complaining about the tossers at Dixons who have so far declined my quidco transaction despite being tracked properly- people should vote if the deal is hot and not on who the supplier is!

NOT the same ;)

Voted Cold, reasons are:

1. Sempron (worst processor)
2. 1GB Ram Only
3. 80GB HDD Only
4. Quite big and heavy
5. Old model (Hence WinXP)
6. Previous Sony Vaio deal was much better

1.Not worse than Celeron M (which is still good enough for surfing, office etc)
2.Well enough ram for XP
3.yep, you are right
4.I prefer XP over Vista , hence I have bought XP for my new desktop and I do not regret it.
5.Sure but it's currently unavailable , moreover not many interested in that deal were able to get it so what are we talking about ?

I do not think it is a fantastic deal...but is not a bad either.

Point 6 I'll give you (albeit it was limited stock) but I mean come on, it's £289.99, it's a budget ODM platform specified to sell at a price. Did you expect

1. Core 2 Duo
2. 2GB Ram
3. 160GB HDD Only
4. Thin and light
5. You don't know what you're talking about. (If you have got a copy of the HP PSG Q3 notebook roadmap or the HP CPL file you'll know both the intro and discon date for both the family and the model and it's nothing to do with the OS in the spec since the 6715s can come with Vista Business, Vista Home Basic or XP depending on the SKU)
